shoesies05 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Hey! Just wanted to hear what everyone thought about this statement: do ou agree or disagree, or what? There are two types of Love: 1) I love you because i need you 2) I need you because i love you Do you see the difference? Which do you think is better? I believe this statement, and believe its better to need someone because you love them. Because that way i believe the love comes first and therefor you need them, but otherwise the needs come first and because you need them you love them? well, what if u dont need them anymore? Let's Hear it!!!
jerbear Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 I pick #2. You need the person becuase you love them. They fill a void that money can not buy. For me #1 means: I can hire people for that. I won't love someone just because I need them.
Curmudgeon Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Loving someone because you need them makes you both a dependent and codependent. Not attractive traits. Needing someone because you love them is almost equally bad because they may not always be there for you. What then? Loving someone because they have qualities you admire, you have things in common, you can truly communicate, they enhance your world and they make your heart tickle is, I think, far healthier than either of the choices you gave. They are a nice to have, not a need to have.
