confucious Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Okay - I know there will be a million different answers to this one...just want to see what people think is normal/acceptable/comfortable when it comes to seeing thier SO. So - 1) How often do you see your SO (ie: 3 times a week for entire evening, coffee a couple times in between etc.) and do you talk on the phone/PC in between? 2) Are you happy with the amount of time or do you want more/less than them?? 3) Do you find enough time to hang with friends or are you seeing them less often and regretting it?? I know there is no rule of thumb for this kind of thing, just curious what other people enjoy... Take care all, and Happy New Years!!
techgirl Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 1)wednesdays, fridays, saturdays, and sundays. it changes if there's a holiday. sometimes friday-tuesday if it's a legal holiday. some fridays i bring him lunch at work. we don't talk in between unless it's necessary. 2)i'm honestly fine with it. sometimes i miss him and would love to see him right then, but it makes it better when i see him next if i don't see him every day. at one point in the beginning it was every weekend i spent the night and he didn't have any time to himself, nor did i. so that got old quick, but now it's better because we know each other better. 3)i dont really hang with my friends much anymore. usually work schedules are the problem with that, but if i have some spare time i usually try to. and if there's something going on, we hang out together with our friends, or just see each other later in the day.

Usually see my bf sometime late friday or early saturday, then he leaves again for work sunday evenings. Gone the rest of the week. We talk on the phone at least once a day. Sometimes several times a day depending on the situation. 2) Are you happy with the amount of time or do you want more/less than them?? Mostly no. I'd be happier with 3-4 times a week and getting to see him for the WHOLE day on those days. 3) Do you find enough time to hang with friends or are you seeing them less often and regretting it?? I get plenty of time. But my bf is incredibly supportive, and encouraging about keeping close contact with family/friends. And removes any feelings of guilt I might have in "abandoning" him by assuring me that he can entertain himself for a few hours. My exh always guilted me into doing things he wanted to do, which didn't involve my family or my friends. Anyway, I believe partners have a responsibility in giving their SO the freedom to spend time with family and friends. It shouldn't have to be taken.

We spend evenings together, either at his place or mine, and we work in the same building so one of usually drops by the other's office for breaks and lunch. Sometimes if he's out for a meeting or conference, or we think of something interesting, we chat with one another through gmail or drop the other a line. 2) I like the amount of time we spend together, and so does he. We like to do the same things, so we each still get to do those, we just have someone else to enjoy it with. 3) I do hang out less with my friends, but I think that's expected when you're in a relationship. We have mutual friends, so we'll usually decide together if we want to go somewhere or have someone over. It all depends on how sociable we're feeling, and so far, our moods have matched in that respect.

We work together and live together so we get alot of time together. 2.Yep I am happy with the time we spend together. 3.I still go out with my friends 2-3 nights a week. So I am seeing them about the same as I always have been.
Lauriebell82 Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 1. i see my boyfriend every weekend..we usually spend the entire weekend together because he either comes at stays at my apartment or i come stay at his (i go to college an hour 1/2 away). 2. no i would love to see my boyfriend everyday. i really miss him during the week but spending all weekend with him is soooo wonderful. i wouldnt want to be with anyone else. 3. i still see my friends during the week mostly. we go out on the weekend sometimes with my best friend and her fiance but yes i have spent less time with my friends because i am with my boyfriend all weekend. all my friends have bfs as well, so we are kind of in the same boat. we try to see each other as much as we can though. i still do try to see them when i have time though.
