BenThereDunThat Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Hey, I became a grandmother this year! Talk about a reality check! But you ain't gonna see me sittin in no rockin chair anytime soon. My DIL avoids the outdoors at all cost. She's a mall rat. I told her I'm buying my granddaughter Timbs and taking her hiking and getting her all muddy. My DIL is beside herself! Congrats!! and you know what I say to that?? Let 'em run around and roll around in the mud. THAT'S what I say! Because, guess what. It WASHES off!! Isn't that beautiful? When else in our lives can we roll around and muck around in it and get out and have our mothers wash it off for us?
BenThereDunThat Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Thank you! She's 9 months now. That picture was a few months ago. But she is a cutie! I sing her a special Winnie The Pooh song that she just adores and it gets her giggling. Now her sisters sing it to her too. We all serenade her! Chaaa....??? I didn't get to see it!!???
pureinheart Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 No, had to go save a guy faking seizures. Oh Bonehead....this lady across the street from me called 911 at least once a day....she was an alcoholic....I bet the fire dept was getting pissed...I know I was, there are real people with real emergancies.... I was about ready to call on that crap....but didn't because fire dept has to resp[ond no matter what....

bonehead Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I can't even imagine why someone would want to fake seizures. This guy is trying ot draw a disability. But there is also the meds the think they might get, ( people LOVE Valium ) and attention
GreenEyedLady Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 you go girl! Yeah, it's my favorite...all the kick without the calories...

Seriously, most of the men I've dated are not in midlife crises. They are divorced and just wanting to settle down. The problem for me was that I would have had to "settle" for someone who wasn't quite right for me, and that shyt just didn't fly. Not anymore! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! Oh man grandkids are soooo cool....just wait till the world feels like it's falling apart and your granddaughter puts those little arms around you screaming gramma....everything just seems to be ok. I notice I snap out of things real quick because of the grandkids....they have made me young...people trip when I tell them I have grandkids, I love it! Get that little girl very muddy....thank God she has you! Make mud pies! Ya, there are guys that are interested, but I am waiting for "the one" Keanu Reeves where are you!
pureinheart Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Yeah, it's my favorite...all the kick without the calories... I try to chill on calories too...use them as wisely as possible
GreenEyedLady Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I try to chill on calories too...use them as wisely as possible Yeah, I try and watch what I eat, so I don't have to worry when I drink...
MuffinMan Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I think I'll join in. My soon to be exW is letting me stay at the house, sleeping on the couch, so I can be with the kids when they wake up on Christmas morning. She is a very good person and realizes my kids mean the world to me. I'm sure things will be a lot different next year, but things will be good this Christmas morning. I've been staying busy shopping, doing my Santa duties, and working more hours than I've worked in a while. I'm also shopping for a new car. I've decided once the divorce is final I'm going to treat myself to a new ride.
GreenEyedLady Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I'm also shopping for a new car. I've decided once the divorce is final I'm going to treat myself to a new ride. A New Year, A New Ride...
MuffinMan Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 A New Year, A New Ride... Kind of what I was thinking. I know what I want to get, but it's really going to make my exW mad. Still thinking if it's worth listening to her BS.
GreenEyedLady Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Kind of what I was thinking. I know what I want to get, but it's really going to make my exW mad. Still thinking if it's worth listening to her BS. THAT MAKES IT EVEN BETTER!!! I'm divorced so I understand all about that... So don't listen...you'll be divorced, and you WON'T HAVE TO ANYMORE!!! The best part of being divorced...

Thanks for the advice. The look on her face is going to be priceless.
kymberann Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 My DIL is 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Swedish Ohh sweet, that's what I am!! Oh being divorced has it's perks! No longer having to be guiltridden, no more fights, or at least not that many! No more extra laundry to do! One less person to clean up after, yep, it was a blessing for me. I got to do a lot of the things i have wanted to do without taking the spouse into consideration. He never would have wanted to do things with me anyway! So I didn't want to do the M thing with hi, why bother! ( say that sarcastically!) Muffin, I hope it works out, you will have to give us all a ride with your new wheels when you get it:p

Well, its after 9pm here, so I've even eaten Christmas Eve dinner... no more buying or wrapping for me that means you are in the UK? I had this dream to start celebrating new years from a flight from Asia, make love with the MW from East to West and everytime we cross a new time zone, we take a break and drink champagne.
