Can'tGiveUp Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 TY! Your NYE plans sound fantastic! I can't even remember the last time I went out for NYE...
kellyp1 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I have been putting in extra time at a homeless shelter and trying to keep myself busy with Xmas shopping, family and friends. I also let an ex-boyfriend of mine talk me into going out this week. Actually had a great time too!
BenThereDunThat Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I wanna join the party too! I'm drinking beer. I really shouldn't, but who cares, right!
movinon05 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Well I've sat in on New Year's Eve for 9 years, even going to bed before the fireworks so I didn't have to think about it. See what NC can do for you? I'm seeing it now!

BenThereDunThat Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 hey, you need some cheering up! so have a beer and lighten your load. Thank you, I will! I have presents to wrap and a dish or 2 to make still, but so what? It will get done tomorrow. If I'm a little late getting to my sister's, so what? I'm taking my time and not gonna stress myself out.
Author Freedom Now Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 Movinon is an inspiration. She walked hand in hand with me in my quest for freedom. She is living proof that there is life after the MM as I am finding too! Just call me another one who has found freedom by Walking Away.....

I'm so happy for you that you found such a wonderful man. Yeah I got lucky this time! I'm not all about gifts, (not like I had a choice before), but he just blows me away. When we went to the Shenandoah Mountains in the Fall, he secretly bought me the warmest, softest, yummiest bathrobe that I had seen and fell in love with, and a beautiful photo album to put all our pictures of the fall colors in, and he sent me a dozen roses at work, and last weekend he gave me one of my Christmas presents at the cabin (hat, gloves and scarf that were warm and toasty and so sheek (LOL, I forgot how to spell that word! LMAO!!!!). I looked good!!!!!!!!!

I'm not all about gifts either but when it's something they actually thought about, not just ran to the store at the last minute because they felt they had to. And could a cabin in the mountains BE anymore romantic just by itself?? Sigh...

She is living proof that there is life after the MM as I am finding too! Just call me another one who has found freedom by Walking Away..... You know what, FN. I used to watch some of the girls walk away from here talking about how they found someone and I thought, "When or Will that EVER happen for me". Now I can say it did! I can't tell you how wonderful that feels!!!!!!!!
BenThereDunThat Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Speaking of booze, lol, I bought my BIL a $30 bottle of Cognac. That's a good gift, right? Thursday and Friday were to be my shopping days, but well, that kinda didn't work out for obvious reasons. I know he likes his after dinner drinks with coffee, and frankly, I didn't feel like going to a golf store, so, since I had to go to the grocery store anyway... I'm a terrible gift buyer. It has to be just PERFECT for the person I'm buying it for. So I usually stress over it. But I think that's a good gift. I hope?

He even told me I saw something in a shop when we were in Virginia and he found it in Macys up here and got it for me because I said I always wanted one of those. I can't think for the life of me what I saw. Its driving me crazy!!!!!!! HE PAID ATTENTION!!!! As for the cabin, I was seeing stars I gotta tell ya. Literally and figuratively!!!!!!! LMAO!
Can'tGiveUp Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I think that bottles are sometimes the perfect gift. I have some friends that I play card/board games with. I bought them a bottle and a game that has drinking games in it.
