irmajor Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I'm giving up online dating once again. In my not so humble opinion, online dating is full of fantasy and deception. I'm a guy and I met a woman online yesterday. Well when I met her in person after a week of emails, she was about 60 lbs. heavier than her picture and she was at LEAST 8 years older than her picture. The worst part?---this same thing has happened 80% of the time when I meet someone online. So back to the real world. I'm not religious so I'm not going to a church group to meet a woman. I don't want to date women at work. I don't drink or do drugs...so no bars for me. I'm going back to the supermarket produce aisle--I actually did meet and date a women I met there. Where else do I go to meet women?? p.s. I'm lonely as hell...
b52srock Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 irmajor - I'm right behind ya babe! I've had the same problem. One guy ended up at LEAST 10 years older than his photo, one was already making plans to move out of state with his girlfriend when we started seeing each other, another was dating another woman (very seriously) when he made plans to take me out. I can't deal with the lying, and since my ex cheated on me, there's no way in hell I'm putting another woman through that pain, period! Why can't these people just be honest? Are they getting off on pulling the wool over people's eyes? Good luck!
dgiirl Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I can't deal with the lying, and since my ex cheated on me, there's no way in hell I'm putting another woman through that pain, period! I encountered a married man looking for some action on the side. I gave him a good knock on the head and told him to go fix his marriage instead of cheating on his wife lol Surprisingly, the guy actually took it pretty well. Maybe that's the lure of the MM. Nope, aint gonna touch that with a 10 foot pole. As for other places to meet people. I find taking classes/hobbies is probably the best way to meet people in a safe way. You get to see people regularly enough to know if they're ****ed up without going out on dates.
redjunebug Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Hmmm. i guess everyone must have different experiences... I met my BF online and everything has been awesome! He actually looked better in person than in his pictures...we have alot in common and really enjoy each others company...things are great and im looking forward to what the future holds for us.. don't give up...there are good women looking for good men online (i was one of them) you just have to find them...
