What about anger?

Most people I've seen talk about frustration, lack of sex or desire, or new desire (for someone else) as the cause of infidelity. Though I agree with all of those, it seems to me that it really comes down to anger, and not dealing appropriately with the anger.

When my H cheated on me, he was basically blazing mad at me (not without cause I must add). I don't think he wanted the other woman - he certainly never made any attempt to really be with her - I think short of beating the **** out of me, that was what he could do to hurt me. (I think I would have preferred being whacked, to tell the truth.)

But I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a fair amount of anger behind most cheating.

Well, in the end, it's all connected to anger. Lack of sex or desire will lead to anger, maybe not blazing mad anger but anger nonetheless.

Resentment.
