herenow Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Before I leave for the weekend, I just want to say something. When I first came here, I was a very angry person with venom to spit. I haven't read my first posts, but I'm sure they weren't very nice. But, people listened and today I have a less venom in my words. Sometimes it's OK to get that out of your system. It's actually therapeutic. Emotions are strong when it comes to the topic here. Please don't discourage anyones point of view. Ignore if you want, but no one comes here unless they need to, and no one stays unless they get something from it. So, even if you disagree with someone, you may learn something from what they have to say. Hope you all have a great weekend. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

oyster Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Enjoy the weekend! People who are not receptive to other's view means they won't grow their emotional intelligence nor maturity.
puddleofmud Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I have some pretty angry days myself, but lashing out at others who have nothing actual to do w/ my life seems to be akin to having a bad day, coming home and kicking the dog. When an angry human abuses a dog--the dog starts attacking humans, then the dog gets a nice dose of something that kills it. How fair is that? Just one example of how anger consumes, breeds and destroys. Anger also may be inherited. There is a term called "generational anger". That starts wars. Do I think it's that simple? Yep! I do! We have choices. I can choose to allow myself to be consumed by anger or to use it constructively. I can choose to allow myself to be consumed by pain or to use it compassionately.I can allow myself to fail and know that others aren't failures. The list could go on forever. No matter, I do believe that for every action there is a reaction and I am responsible for my actions by not allowing myself to become an eternal victim. If I allow that then I am the looser; the victimizer the winner, even if its just me victomizing myself!

silentalways Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I've got another confession to make! I'm your fool... Everyone's got their chains to break! Holding you... Were you born to resist, or be abused Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Are you gone and on to someone new I needed somewhere to hang my head Without your noose.. You gave me something that I didn't have But had no use... I was too weak to give in, too strong to lose My heart is under arrest again But I break loose My head is giving me life or death But I can't choose I swear I'll never give in and I refuse. Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Has someone taken your faith - it's real The pain you feel Your trust - you must confess Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. (Ahhhhhhhh!!!) (ohhhhhhhh oh oh... Ohhhhh oh oh! ohhhhhhhh oh oh... OHHHHHHH!!!) Has someone taken you faith - it's real! The pain you feel! The Life! The Love! You die to heal The hope, that stops, the broken hearts! Your trust, you must confess! Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. I've got another confession my friend I'm no fool Im getting tired of startin' again somewhere new Wouldn't wanna resist, or be abused... I swear I'll never give in and I refuse... Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. Has someone taken you faith - it's real! The pain you feel! Your trust, You must confess Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you. (Ahhhhhhhohhhhhhhhhhhhh!)

If I allow that then I am the looser; the victimizer the winner, even if its just me victomizing myself! BRAVO Puddle! Taking resposibility for ones own actions vs pitty party....hummmm .....I used to be the Queen of pitty parties with a capital Q....one day after screaming and yelling at everyone around me, "it's all their fault", and years of playing the blame game, God turned the mirror on ME....I cried for 4 days straight....and that was the beginning of knowledge and healing. Generational is very real, and usually the next generation takes the mess one step further....that is why I take SOOOOO seriously the laying down of my life for the future....my mother couldn't do it, I am struggling, but my kids are taking the torch and running with it! Puddle, your kids are strong because of you! You have good boys! Yeah Puddle....let's hear it for the furure generations!!!!!!!!!
kymberann Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Love that tune silent. Every time I here it it just makes me think! Here's another one: If there was nothing that I could say Turned your back and you just walked away Leaves me numb inside I think of you Together is all I knew We moved too fast but I had no signs I would try to turn the hands of time I look to you for the reason why The love we had passed me by And as the sun would set you would rise Fall from the sky into paradise Is there no light in your heart for me You've closed your eyes you don't longer see There were no lies between me and you You said nothing of what you knew But there was still something in your eyes Left me helpless and paralyzed You could give a million reasons change the world and change the time Could not give me the secrets of your heart and of your mind In the darkness that surrounds me now there is no piece of mind Your careless words undo me, leave the thought of us behind You could give a million reasons change the world and change the time Could not give me the secrets of your heart and of your mind In the darkness that surrounds you now there is no piece of mind Your careless words undo me, leave the thought of us behind
GreenEyedLady Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 POM loved your post, I find it very true... HN: And of course people disagree, especially here...and other viewpoints are good because they make you think and validate your own position or change it slightly or totally...but if one makes their point in hatred or with malice, the point will be lost...and what's the point of that?
