Sand&Water Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Short and Simple: Male friend of mine [ -i.e. Raft Man] had wanted to get together in the early stages but I declined for several reasons. He asked me a second time, as he must of thought that I thought he was joking about the idea. I said yes. I talked to him, and almost everything is set for a get together! The downer is he lives a few cities away from me ~300 miles. And, he and I are both busy. Hence there is no set date or time. He said, once he figures it out he'll make a journey to see me. Question: How long is too long to wait for a get together? Finally my instincts paid off. I am on the bright side of life! Sand&Water
barfool Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Given that you're a couple cities away and traveling will probably be done on weekends, I would give it a month. Though it is a long time, it's not by just counting the weekends as opportunities.
Author Sand&Water Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 RE: Thank you for your reply, Barfool. A month does sound good. That's if both people are willing to put in time, making space in their schedule and effort into it.. However he isn't in rush -neither am I. So, it might be til at least January/February 2007 for a proper get together. It's tough for me trust him. I am comfortable, and he does seem like a nice man. But, I am not reaching out to him ~and I don't like the distance. Urgh. In all honesty, I am thisclose from chickening out from all this. Hope it goes well with your guy. It will unfold for the better! Sand&Water
