I am an idiot.

I was seeing this really nice guy, but things started moving too fast. I have some issues with intimacy, and his going fast freaked me out and I broke up with him in panic. That was a couple days ago. As I sit here, I immensely regret what I did. I shouldn't have broken up with him. However I did, and what's done is done. So what happens now? I've talked to him a bit, but he's been short with me, so that leaves me little hope he really wants much to do with me. I just feel so stupid. I shouldn't have broken up with him in the first place...but since I did, what happens now?

If you'd like another chance, you can be honest and mature and just write to him about how you were feeling. If he doesn't respond, that'll be your answer. May as well put yourself out there so you don't have to spend too much time thinking about it later on. You're not the first person to shy away at something that was moving too fast. But if you tell him or write him how you felt in a mature way and his response is still negative and short, then you know you wouldn't be able to work much out with him in the future anyway so you've spared yourself some time.

I agree with Daphne.. just go for it..

From how you spoke about him, it didn't seem like you guys were dating for too long, or had too much drama.. so I don't think it's too late for you guys. Him being short is probably just a defense mechanism- YOU did break up with him remember... so maybe he's just hurt and acting like that to hide the fact that he feels that way.

Confused, I speak as a man who married a woman who had "issues with intimacy". Take care of that. This issue you have made you do something that you greatly regret. You do realize that it will happen again right? My ex-wife's "issues with intimacy" eventually left me alienated, unloved, and lonely within my marriage. Unfortuantely, it was the "issues with anger" that tore down the rest of the foundation.

Anyway, address those issues. They don't go away and you would be wise to address them before they make you do something you can never take back.

I agree.

Those issues need to be addressed.

I don't think it's too late.

Just be honest with him. Tell him exactly what happened and why you panicked.

He's probably just bruised at the moment- that is why you'll have to make the grand gesture if you want him back.

Good luck!
