Look, I don't care how gorgeous or amazing or rich you are... if I've only talked to you once, I don't have enough to go on. You cannot honestly expect me to have you stuck in my head for a week. I have only met you once! That is not nearly enough time to develop a really strong interest in someone, no matter how great I thought you were! That's the part you don't understand.

Why would I feel any loyalty to someone I just met? I don't care how attractive you are, I don't know you!!!!! GRRR, you just don't get it.

You got Alzheimer? Im not telling you, you should do phone sex only dont get piszed if he call you in more than 3 days. Maybe he is not so sure about you anyway ;)

btw Im not rich;) :p

so do men; that's why they might not necessarily call in the next few days.

EXACTLY:p We have our lives as well:p Besides, you will think of us more....'Why havent he called like other suckers????':p

Sounds like a good conclusion. i also just had a great idea!

How about instead of everybody waiting 3 days to pretend like they have a life, we all out and get a life? And maybe instead of trying so hard not to look needy we should create the kind of life where we honestly don't need romance or sex to be happy. I'm sure it's possible...

Thats the whole point. Dont be an actor.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. :lmao::laugh::lmao:

Hope you find great success with non-clingy, non-obsessive, non-desperate women! ;):lmao:

Indeed, I've seen quite a few threads on LS started by women that basically go like this.......

I met this great guy on Friday night. It's Wednesday, and he hasn't called yet. Why hasn't he called?

Thank you, I certainly will.

Could you please admit, that Guys DONT HAVE TO CALL IMMEDIATELY ??? Or maybe they have to if they call you, because you are soooo in demand:rolleyes:

Doesn matter guys, dont listen to her....she never picked up a single chick ;)

These rules work and it is up you to be really busy and laid back and not playing games/acting.

YEP. It is proven to work like charm. And it is not playing games.....it is how gentlemen behave. If she doesnt remember us...too bad...her fault:p

And If she managed to get together with other strange man in those few days...she is probably highly promiscuous anyway:p

Guys don't have to call immediately. But the sooner they call, the better the chances that I still have the hots for them.

That's the farthest I can push that envelope. You happy, man?

"Shows what you know" is American colloquial for "That shows that you don't know much." Referring to the fact that I have indeed picked up chicks.

I wonder how calling women and societies tendency toward instant gratification fit together. Aren't we, as a collective group, driven toward appeasing our desires in the moment? Isn't that the reason for the high debt to income ration, the massive credit card usage, fast food, express checkout lanes, express pump aisles, next day shipping of ebay items, Super get all you need in one stop walmarts, etc. etc....

So if we want our instant gratification, then why do men still insist that making us wait is the key to success? Can I tell you how many purchases I've passed up because I might have had to wait a whole day in order to get it. Or the restuarant I tried to go to ONE TIME but left because I had to wait to get in. I never bothered to go back again. I don't want to wait. It wastes my time.

Will women as the overly generalized epitomy of consumerism, some how subconciously appreciate being told they aren't worth calling earlier than a week later? A society of pill popping, instant fix, gotta have it now, and supposedly the key to success is by telling them they can't have you?

You could argue that women want what we can't have, but Walmarts of the world realized that they lose sales when this happens. Dating is sales game in it's most bastardized form. Don't argue it. You can't pick up chicks when you smell like poo and have boogers hanging off your nose. You have to do the modicum required in order to "sell yourself" to the opposite gender. What image are you presenting? Not one of a powerful, confident man. I see unreliable, and someone who's implying I'm not even worth a 3 minute phone call to set up a time later to hang out. My image of you at that point is tarnished, and it will take more then it should've to convince me that I should invest my time in a person like that.

I've never actually ended up on a date with someone who's waited days to call me. Call me a product of society, just don't call me 5 days after getting my number. :p

(Sorry.. I'll quit now.. I'm off to read about business management now. hahahah :lmao: )

so your comparing a man to a product purchased by a women at walmart eh. well the thing you dont seem to understand is the purchase is made when the girl starts forming the relationship in their mind, so just because the guy isnt calling them right away doesnt mean shes not already living phantasies in her head it doesnt make the guy who calls right away any more of an instant purchase. Its like video games, some have long cut scenes that you watch before you start playing and people love that, and some jump you right into the action doesnt mean you put the game into the console at a different time. so what im trying to explain to you is the guy who is indiferent probably dating 6 women at a time and doesnt call right away may be more wanted and just as instant a purchase as the guy who calls right away because the purchase starts when interaction and first impresions are made.

Posted

The way I see it is, calling when you said you would (by asking for my number you are implying that you will call soonish) is a very small step in showing me that you can be trusted.

What good are you to any woman in a relationship if you cant even be counted on to keep the smallest promises?

On the instant gratification issue: I think that is exactly why they think they should wait to call, it makes them look like something different then the norm.

While most men want something (you) right now they are able to sit and wait thereby showing that they are better then the average guy off the street, they think it makes them look attractive I believe.

Why is a guy who's dating more women "better"? That's like saying because everyone else has it, I want it. Isn't that consumerism? We all run out to buy the PS3 because we have to have what everyone else seems to want? Gotta have the it too? Guess that works for the people with disposable time and income.

I don't equate a guy asking for my number and not calling for 9 days the same as putting in a video game to play and watching a story line for 10 minutes. Can't compare it. It'd be more like seeing the game on sale at the video store, and having to wait 9 days before you get enough money to buy it. Then you get it home and find out it's not reliable, doesn't work the way it was supposed to, has glitchs, etc...

Anyway.. just saying that the "wait to call" rule might not be some men's best friend. Unless you can back it up with something substantial, then don't go thinking it's "the hook". It'll sink less worthy men in the hole, and then they have to work harder to get out of it. If you've got something to back it up with, then by all means, use the bait and wait method.

okay, so here's what the x-day rule is trying to fake. That you have an active and fulfilling life and are content with being single and don't need to clutch at any opportunity to date just about anyone. That you'd like to be able to schedule enough time for a decent conversation because you genuinely want to know about this woman's mind, not just what she looks like. That you're interested and you think there might be potential, but you'd like to get to know her better before you decide if you'll be compatible on more than just a physical level.

So stop faking it! Get a life, don't be shallow, get to know people before you get involved. It takes some work and some discipline but it's part of a fulfilling life - and there a lot more to a fulfilling life than dating or sleeping with x number of women. =P

On another note, I'm curious what the women here think of a guy who gets your number and sets up a phone date with you - like "I'm not too busy on Wednesday, how about I call you around 3 or 4?" Seems to me that that takes away the waiting games, shows some time management skills (not terribly sexy that, but it shows that you're active and somewhat organized with your life), and also shows some reliability when you follow up and call. any feedback on that?

That is a fabulous idea. I would fall in love

Side note: I think it's so hilarious, all these guys trying to "fake it till they make it". It would take one retarded woman not to see through the farce. I don't care how long you wait to call, pretending you couldn't care less... if you're desperate on the inside, it oozes from your pores like radioactive sewage. No one with half a brain can miss it.

That's why I think Alpha has a good thing going. He's trained himself to truly not care. All these boys like KMT and such, they try to imitate Alpha's game but they fail to grasp the essence of it: that it's not what you do, it's how you think. That's why he succeeds where they fail, going around like wannabe players but reeking of desperation...

Not that I would ever date someone like him. Bitch, I read plenty David Deangelo. I've got the "game" under an electron microscope :p

F*ck the game. I've called the same day. Worked out fine.

There wasn't a spark, unfortunately, but still...who cares? Call when you wanna call, I say.

Bingo!

These games and rules are all BS. Made up by people who are too afraid to be themselves around the opposite sex.

Yep. 'I just dont give a f@ck' attitude is best for every opportunity. You can avoid anxieties of all sorts.....russian mob, girls etc.:D

I like that!

When I first met my bf he told me when he was going to call, and he called exactly when he said he would. I just thought that was the coolest thing. A man who was true to his word. Such a breath of fresh air from the a-holes that said they'd call and days would go by without a word from them.

I don't know about the rest of the female population, but sexy isn't negated by acknowledging that someone else has a life and finding a time that works for both of you. To me, it shows respect. And that is sexy.
