Once again - this weekend I did the same thing I always do and managed to push the guy I was dating away. He sent me a text saying we should go our separate ways. I called and asked that he call me. He said he would, but couldn't at that exact moment - he would call later. I send him a text saying, "here are all the reasons why I think we should work it out." I said, "Are there enough reasons?" He text back with "Yeah." He said he would call me the next day.

Guess what? he didn't call. I text him to say, "what is up?Where are we relationship wise?" Nothing. I say after an hour, "take all the time you need to figure it out, but let me know either way."

Here is the thing, when I don't hear from him EVER I assume we are breaking up and then I get mad and immediately break up with him. I am messed up I know.

What can I do? I don't want to bombard him with calls/texts because 1) it won't work 2) if he was even considering talking to me again he won't if I call like a crazy woman.

I hate that he isn't saying anything. At the very least say...."thought about it some more. don't want to see you again..." How hard is that? argggg

But, it sounds like he already broke up with you. Please leave him alone, you're making yourself look foolish, I know it's easier said than done, but stop texting him.

I can tell you from experience that what he is doing is a huge neon sign saying 'GoodBye'. If you truly think there is hope left, the best thing you can do would be to quit calling/texting him. See his response, if there is any. If not, then you have your final answer.

I cannot express in mere words how much I hate all this texting crap!

Are people such cowards anymore that they cannot have a real life conversation about relationships???

Look, his texting you to say that you should go your separate ways should have been enough for you to understand that he doesn't want to see you. It doesn't matter that you think there are 5,000 reasons to be together - HE clearly does not or he wouldn't have told you he wants to go separate ways.

But since that wasn't enough, his not calling you should give you all the information you need. A guy who wants to be with you and wants to discuss things will call. A guy who doesn't want to be with you, won't call. It's that easy to decipher what he really wants.

He said he'd call because he wanted to get you to leave him alone and stop texting him. He didn't call because he doesn't want to talk to you about this.

I know it's hard, but you have to accept reality.

Yes, if this was important to him, he DEFINITELY would have talked to you by now. Defy your urges and just walk away... don't look back.

The only messed up thing here is the need to break up with someone when it is blindingly obvious that they have already broken up with you.
