chill chic Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I'm feeling really good right now for some reason, that I'm going to ditch that idiot that I was ALWAYS talking about on here, yah sorry I sounded like a broken record! But I had posted a thread about him gold digging me, which I still think is true. He tried to make it big in the big leagues but failed, and he knows my parents have money, but I kind of downplayed it a lil. But I still want to say something about that, like since he was a jerk to me, I want to rub it in his face that I'm set for the rest of my life, not just my family but with my career too? Since he was SO into my money almost to the point of jealousy, should I brag to him a lil more???
alphamale Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 well VIP you've learned a good lesson here. there are girl gold-diggers and there are also boy gold-diggers. one must avoid them at all costs regardless of sex. these people will do anything to get their hands on a lot of money. this girl I grew up with came from a wealthy family. both her parents are physicians. they were loaded... she married this really good looking dude who came from a blue collar family. he is the gold digger. they've been married for 7 or 8 yrs but I dont' think it will last much longer. and when it does finally end he'll probably come out ahead financially.

This one is entirely counter-productive. Fast-forward to indifference. It's not only a waste of your time and energy, but what does it prove?! Not that you're the "bigger" person - that's for sure.

I guess I'm just now starting this phase, so right now I'm in the "heat" of it.

If so, I'm glad you're not taking it as a personal failing anymore. I'm in the same boat as you in some ways. I've been told repeatedly that the reason guys are intimidated is because of the money thing and I'm confident. Some have suggested I lie about what I do or downplay things. I already downplay them so I don't know what else I can do. Go get a job at Wendy's? My ex didn't know the extent of my situation, but he had an idea. He didn't want to freeload off of me. At least that's my interpretation of why he left. I prefer it that way to having him try to mooch.
