twkvfx Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 This question is really obvious I know. But like the title says, how to be happy. I feel empty inside because I've wronged against the significant people who were once a friend(s) regardless of their age. I'm aware that this was because partly I don't show people the happiness that I express by not smiling as often. At the moment I find it hard to atleast be happy, because of the personal errors I've caused. So, in general, how to show happiness and change everything that hinders you?

Have confidence in yourself and work to change the things about you that you are not completely satisfied with. 3. Realize that some things/people in life are a certain way and that nothing can be done to change it/them, so instead of letting that stuff bother you, ignore the stuff that can't be changed.
melodymatters Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 many times, it IS hard to be truly happy. Two different approaches that might help are : 1) try to find happiness in the smallest things. Life is just a series of sensations and most " happy" people don't have MORE happy times, they find MORE happiness in the nice times. 2) smiling helps fight off anxiety and unhappiness by fooling your brain chemistry into thinking you are happy. I try and smile even when I don't feel like it, as it also helps open up the world and other people to you. hope this helps, good luck !
silentalways Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 i have read a few of the rid's posts in here and he/she [sorry - lol] always seems to have some great advise. i also read something good off another forum and i hope this helps: 1. look at this time in your life as a great opportunity for you to learn about yourself, and heal up old insecurities. 2. realize that while your past actions and behaviours may have hurt others deeply, you still did your best and that you loved others with all your heart 3. don't expect anyone to forget but they will forgive in time 4. life and relationships are not easy and there is no manual on how to live so just learn from your mistakes and cherish the great moments 5. have a balance in life. if u have lived the emotional roller coaster, try keeping things simple and just take care of things that are within your control. 6. stay healthy in mind, body and soul.
