If you are not, then sex has an emotional, relational element to it,and you are setting yourself up for huge issues if you don't recognize that. I agree that sex has an emotional and relational element to it, when the two parties involved are in a loving relationship. However, when two people engage in sex for self gratification only, there are no emotions. Am I wrong about this?????

It's entirely possible to just have sex with someone and experience no particular loving or tender emotions to the other person. Of course some emotions are going to be involved... even if it's just excitement or joy or something.
