laxplayer19x93 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 I am 13 and I weigh about 110lbs, and I am 5'2". This may sound about normal but I have a bit of a, well, stomach, and I would like to lose it. Any suggestions/types of exercise? I already do about 50 push ups a night and use my punching bag for 20 or so minutes, what else should I do?
norajane Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 To lose fat, you need to do more aerobic exercises - things like running, tennis, soccer, anything that gets your heart rate up - and for longer periods of time (at least 30 minutes per day or an hour 3-4 times a week). At the same time, building up muscle - like through weight lifting and push ups and squats, etc. - will help you lose fat because the muscle burns up more calories than fat.
Guest Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 stop worrying about your weight unless it is a health issue. the more you worry about it, the more other people will want to have some sort of say about that. maybe you could workout outside instead on indoors and that way u could get fresh air and train as well. my exercise routine involves 4 peanut butter and jam sandwiches just before bedtime and then running around the house after the sound of birds churping...it works! i am 170 pounds now! wooo hooo!
Author laxplayer19x93 Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 Ok, thanks. Can I ride my bike for 30 minutes?
norajane Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Yes, bike riding is great! The longer you ride your bike, the more calories you burn, the more leg and butt muscles you build, and the more fat you lose. So go for longer than 30 minutes if you can, steady riding (not so much coasting), and up some hills if you have them.
Author laxplayer19x93 Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 Ok thanks for your help.
