What do you have in common? A class together? The same school? Talk about these things first. Talk about the upcoming football game, or a movie that's out.

Ask her out to one of these things. Then you will be doing something active together, and it will be easier to talk.

I remember those conversations at school with guys. I liked when they were friendly, asked me how my day was going, maybe commented on something the teacher said or a school-related thing. Then they would smile and be off.

You don't need to make it a long conversation. Save the long conversations for when you eat lunch together, or go out. And when you do those things, ask her questions about her life, and be sure to comment on things you are doing.

You are obviously a thoughtful, interested guy. That goes a long way in any woman's book! :)
