IpAncA Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 I was wondering what some of you make of this. I went home early and when I walked in my H showed me something that he got in the mail. When I looked at it, it was just newspaper articles that was sent from our local newspaper from CA. With the articles was a note from a women that said "blank, you gotta see this!" It was signed only with J. This was like the second time. He asked me if we knew of anyone who lived in CA or anyone with the letter J. Well of course I don't know anyone and it was odd because there was no return address. I just thought it was werid that it was mailed from CA with clips from our near by local newspaper. Has any of you had werid mail sent to you before like this?
Touche Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Yep, we had one like that recently too. Did it have to do with investing or some such thing? It's an advertisement. But you have to really look closely to see that they're selling something.

Author IpAncA Posted October 31, 2006 Author Posted October 31, 2006 No its just a bunch of articles about things like money, buying a house, governement, running your own business, etc... I just thought that was a little odd because it came right out of a newspaper and the note that came with it was just a post it so it wasn't like anything perfessional.
Touche Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 I'd bet it's the same marketing ploy that we received. Read it over and somewhere in those articles you'll see what I'm talking about. It's not obvious though. You have to really look through it. Ours was a newspaper clipping too with a handwritten (or what appeared to be handwritten) post-it-note.
PandorasBox Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Sounds like spam mail. If you don't know who it is, I wouldn't open it.
magda Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Yeah, I've had that before, too. How do you know it was from a woman, anyway? Did she dot her i's with hearts or something?
Touche Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 Sounds like spam mail. If you don't know who it is, I wouldn't open it. I think Ipanca is talking about snail mail not email..unless I misunderstood.
Mz. Pixie Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 They have them for weight loss products too. A friend of mine got a weight loss ad in the mail with something along the same lines on it.

Yes it's definitely a solicitor.
FELIZE Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 I too, had a friend that received a newspaper clipping and it was some of that same govt. stuff, grant offers and building a business no return address or anything It's strange because the clippings she received came from the New York Post..... it sure makes you wonder.........
PandorasBox Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 I think Ipanca is talking about snail mail not email..unless I misunderstood. Ahhh ok, well junk ads then. Hell I get spam texts from companies trying to sell crap all the time. I blocked it of course, it was getting to be ridiculas.
Author IpAncA Posted October 31, 2006 Author Posted October 31, 2006 Ok thanks. I couldn't figure out why this person kept on sending him newspaper articles .
