Before I begin, let me start with a little back story.

I'm currently an undergrad, and the way our courses at the university i go to work is that we have a lectures with a professor followed by a tutorial course which is given by grad students. I'm a little older than most in my class having taken a few years off from school to work full time.

I'm basically interested in one of my tutors. She can't be any older than I am ,if only a few years older. She's beautiful, has an irresistible accent and she is always smiling and friendly. All that aside she is very obviously very intelligent and passionate about what she is teaching, which turns out to be what I want to build my career around.

Ethically, I don't have a problem with it because i would never expect special treatment for anything. If she did however I would not hesitate asking for a section change to get another tutor. I'd lose an excellent tutor but I would stand to gain much, much more.

So my question is the following, should I ask her out? And if so, what would be the best time to go about it? Wait for the end of the term, next time I see her?

hey buddy,

How long has she been tutoring you? I think if it hasn't been that long maybe you should wait till it is over because it could make her feel unconfortable.

If she was interested in you i think that would be great, but becuase she might not it would be very unconfortable for you both to have to still work togther.

I think for the time being just show her that you are interested be very nice and get to know her more.

Good luck!

Only the past few months, she tutors other classes as well but it's the first time I've had her as a tutor. I agree that to wait is a good idea, and that was really my initial plan.

Just to clarify in general, its not a 1 on 1 tutoring thing. The rest of the class is there as well. She basically does problems, explains things we might need help with or covers material that the professor doesn't have time to cover.

Thank you for the reply!
