Buttaflyy Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Also, my SO - current and the one right before, always refer me to me as "cute" and "cutie". This is confusing. Does it mean they don't think I'm beautiful? My SO called me cute on the phone last night and it's been bugging me more and more, I was tempted to tell him to stop callling me that. Does it mean he doesn't think I'm beautiful? Why call your SO cute and not beautiful? Tell him that puppies are cute!
Touche Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Maybe he's like my H. He says I'm cute if he's talking about some behavior of mine but he says I'm beautiful if he's giving me a compliment on how I look.

magichands Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I have seen pics of his ex's and if I consider myself a 9, they are all 10s which makes me feel insecure. You're so insecure that you're undoubtedly underestimating yourself. So you're probably an 11. Or maybe even a 12, if you quit looking so miserable.

Or maybe even a 12, if you quit looking so miserable. Yes, I wish I could be less insecure. It would help in many ways not just point wise on the scale. In fact even on the phone yesterday I made an offhand comment for him to continue staying busy so he'll be too occupied to even want to be with another woman, something along those lines, and he got very upset and asked if I was getting jealous. Shortly afterwards he hung up and I felt awful for being insecure because he hates it very badly. Even when he talks to a very ugly girl I have a fit so the thought of him being away and not knowing who he talks to is driving me crazy.
Fun2BMe Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Tell him that puppies are cute! That's a good one! I'll tell him my neighbor's dog is cute too the next time he calls me that.
jmargel Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Did it ever occur to you that maybe he lost his wife and he just wanted a woman to talk to... and flirt with a bit? What? Her & I were dating and dancing together the whole night. He comes out of nowhere, doing this. She had every right to react the way she did.

allina Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I guess me and my SO are equally attractive but different kinds of attractive
alphamale Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I guess me and my SO are equally attractive but different kinds of attractive most of the couples I've known well are pretty equally matched in the physical attractivness area. Once in a while you get the couple that is totally mis-matched and you think like WTF is going on. Then you find out the ugly fat dude is loaded and his gorgeous wife is a gold-digger

Once in a while you get the couple that is totally mis-matched and you think like WTF is going on. Then you find out the ugly fat dude is loaded and his gorgeous wife is a gold-digger I think this is true, about most couples being close in their levels of attractiveness, I've heard that this is true for education and other factors as well. Other than the gold-digger scenario, I've noticed that often in a mis-matched couple an insecure person takes an SO that is much less attractive/desirable than them in order to feel as if they have the upper hand and their less attractive partner won't leave. This is a bit off topic I know but it is something I have seen on more than one occasion.

Smart guy but sort homely. He's like 5'5" maybe. Susan is this gorgeous redhead with a perfect body and she has 2 daughters from pervious marriage. Anways, word has it that her ex-hubbie was a really good looking dude who like to fornicate with every female on the block. So she divorced him and married Mark a few yrs later. She is like 5" taller than him and totally stuning to look at. HA ah ahaa h ha ha hah. Boy did he hit the jackpot!
