Is anyone out there also dealing with depression because your spouse wants a separation?

My wife and I have been married

almost 6-1/2 years ( been together 8 years ) - we have a 5-1/2 year old son we both love dearly.

The main reasons for the separation center on infidelity on her part, financial difficulties and estrangement of my family towards my wife because of her cheating. Now Im not saying I don't share some of the blame myself - I do.

But I never was emotionally, verbally or physically abusive to my wife. I have never cheated on her. Although we have numerous money problems, I always provided for my family to the best of my ability.

My wife says she just wants her freedom and doesn't have the same romantic feelings for me as in the past.

I know that many people will say get rid of her and move on..( The house we live in is hers by the way - was built before we got together ) but I can't seem to come to the realization it is over. I still love her deeply.

Thanks for any responses

Did you sign a pre-nup? And what state do you live in?

Sad, but true.

Check out the "Love or Money" thread. If you strike it rich, then none of this will matter any more.

What you haven't relized is that you love some image that you have, not your wife. Your wife is a selfish woman, who doesn't care about her child and husband. All she wants is some **** buddy. Open your eyes and realize that she's not the woman you love, and she doesn't deserve your love and attention. She sticked around you because life with you was comfortable.

Move on. Take care of the child. Don't settle for the abusive relationship you are in. There's a bright future ahead. Find yourself a good woman and start a new life. You can't fix this relationship. She has gone too far in her fantasies. And who knows, maybe she has done much more behind your back than you know. Are you sure you are the biological father?

I'm getting divorced after learning that my wife of five years has cheated on me with several guys. When I learned about this I was crushed. Now I'm happier, because days are brighter without her. Luckily, we have no kids.

Good luck!
