Craig Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Do this mean I will have to avoid physical affection and/or kissing? Damn, this is going to be hard! As each day passes by, I create new possibilities of this not working out. Meeting Time Frame: Is late November - early December a reasonable period? It doesn't mean that you have to avoid or engage in physical affection. The choice is yours to make without feeling any pressure either way. You purpose in the first meeting is to get to know him better and for him to get to know you better. Reduce your expectations and you'll reduce your insecurities. Think of it as "just a meeting" to talk instead of typing. Your time frame is reasonable.
dgiirl Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Oh my S&W, you are setting yourself up to be hurt (and scary you sounded like me a few months ago). Listen, you are just meeting for coffee. Stop worrying about physical affection until you atleast meet the guy in person. From personal experience, many people are exactly the way they are online, but just as many people are completely different. So just because you have chemistry over email does NOT mean you will have chemistry in person. You might be completely turned off as soon as you meet him, or vice versa. Go have coffee with him, but do not get attached to any particular outcome. Go in with a positive attitude, but remember at this stage, you are simply friends, thus if it doesnt work out, atleast you made a new friend.
Pyro Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 That may be true in NYC or... ahem... Detroit Hey now. No need to judge all of us just because of a few bad cookies here.
magichands Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Hey now. No need to judge all of us just because of a few bad cookies here. Stereotypes are what LoveShack does best. What sort of cookie are you?
Pyro Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Stereotypes are what LoveShack does best. What sort of cookie are you? I am referring to bad cookies here where I live. If I had to be a cookie, I would be chocolate chip. Everyone seems to like them.
SmoochieFace Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Hey now. No need to judge all of us just because of a few bad cookies here. Fret not, Riddler, Detroit actually isn't Numero Uno on the FBI's Most Dangerous Cities Countdown. It's Camden, NJ. LOTS of bad cookies there. I believe Flint is higher on the ranking than the Motor City. You guys are in either third or fourth so Detroiters have some catching up to do. Yeah, I don't think I'd want to have a medical emergency in either Flint or Camden...

Author Sand&Water Posted October 24, 2006 Author Posted October 24, 2006 Reply: I will discuss the parameters of the situation with him. I can envision it now: Distance + hectic schedules + lack-of-romance = Train Wreck. Craig: It doesn't mean that you have to avoid or engage in physical affection. I understand. But trust me on this one, this man has his mind chopped into pieces and scattered all over the gutter. It is only a foreshadow. He is just a friend. He asks so many questions, though. In return, I do the same. I am getting worked-up because of this: He knows I don't live in his city, then why bother to keenly continue to contact a woman outside his region? He baffles me. I might post an update in the coming weeks. Sand&Water
burning 4 revenge Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 For a while Detroit was voted most dangerous city. We seem to have lost our touch. Flint is a complete dump. Somewhere Michael Moore is shaking his head in disgust
SmoochieFace Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Flint is a complete dump. ... The only good thing in Flint is Jellybeans - good place for rare/htf records. Only reason why I roll into town.
SmoochieFace Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Somewhere Michael Moore is shaking his head in disgust Oh sure. He's livin' it up in NYC... light-years away from Flint in many ways.
Pyro Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Somewhere Michael Moore is shaking his head in disgust B4R, have you seen that documentary that he did about Flint and the GM CEO? I don't recall the name of it, but I thought it was excellent. Sorry for the hi-jack people.
magichands Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Sorry for the hi-jack people. I bet you say that to all your victims.
Pyro Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I bet you say that to all your victims. I try, but unfortunately there are too many victims.
SmoochieFace Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I try, but unfortunately there are too many victims. So are you helping to push Detroit into the number one slot?
alphamale Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 B4R, have you seen that documentary that he did about Flint and the GM CEO? I don't recall the name of it, but I thought it was excellent. Roger and Me.... yes i saw that, it was great.
