Mythical Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 hey guys, Not too sure if anyone can help. I have been with my b/f for almost 2 years everything is great. We are both very affectionate people, and love showing it too eithother, sometimes I even think he grabs and hugs me more than I do! He is a very tough, thug, confident, doesn't put up with anything kinda guy. lol I don't know how els I can describe him he is just very strong and I am probabaly the only one that isn't scared of him.....everyone looks up to him! But anywase you get my point. My problem is (it doesnt really bother me that muchl) just wondering why he never wants to hold hands? OK, its not even just in public I mean theres the odd time where he will grab my hand when we are sitting next to eacthother but never walking? This all prob sounds pretty silly, but than again I never initiate it either? Again this doesn't bug me that much I am just wondering if that is the kinda guy he is? He just doesn't like walking and holding hands? Is it because I don't initiate it? Anyone have any input on this?? Thanks guys!

Either that or he's afraid of having his 'macho' image take a blow by being seen in public being 'soft' - not that holding hands is 'soft' in any way to most people. Sounds like he is insecure when it comes to affection - most 'badass' types usually are.
KittenMoon Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Y'know, I've never been much of a holding hands person, at least not while walking. I like to have my hands free- I will rest them on someone, or touch then however, but a hand lock can feel a little restraining for some people. Just a personal preference. I know when walking, holding hands with someone can throw off my walking rhythm, mainly because I am short and I have to stride differently, etc. I wouldn't worry about this.
quankanne Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 have you asked about it, whether he's against hand-holding? Sometimes they don't have a problem with it, but they just don't think about it, you know? or, he might think that it would appear possessive if you held hands in public. Again, you prolly should just ask to find out what he thinks about it.

Hey, Well he does show affection in public (sitting on his lap, hugging me etc.) So not too sure if it is that...but maybe you could be right because I know when we are around a lot of guys he tries to pertect me. I know hes not afraid of showing it (to me) because when we are alone hes a little baby sometimes that craves affection. hmmm??

SmoochieFace Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I know you perfer not to mention your sex...which is ok. BUt are you in a relationship, and hold hands? I'll step up to the mike... Yes, I am in a relationship. I am a guy. And I hold hands with my GF. And we both smile while doing it. And... sometimes we even hold hands during sex... especially while engaged in a certain act.
quankanne Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I'm female, married for 14 years. And yes, my husband is quite sweet about hand-holding in public – he's the one to initiate it. Not sure why, but I enjoy it. Stealing kisses in public, too ...
