Quinch Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I've heard this works for fitness and weight loss but has anyone actually tried it? Does it really work or is it just another gimmick?
Guest Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I've done it. It's great. I don't know how many calories it burns but I understand it's good for balance and stretching. It is nice and gentle and leaves you feeling good.
dgiirl Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I'm not really sure how much weight you will lose from tai chi, but it's amazing for ridding stress and bringing focus into your life. My body get's really tense from sitting on the computer 8 hrs a day from work. But when I do my tai chi, my body limbers up and totally relaxes. It definitely helps with my back pain too. I think if you want to lose weight, you might find yoga to be better. I hear that's more of a workout. Never tried it myself, but my best friend is a yogini.
erika2610 Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I don't know about Tai Chi, but have you ever thought about Pilates if you want to lose some weight? My mother loves it, as it not only relaxes her, but she's in great shape now too.
