Woggle Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 What do you look for when you visit a person's house or apartmant for the first time? What impresses you? What turns you off?
laRubiaBonita Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 i look for a decent(clean) bathroom and no parents!
amaysngrace Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 What do you look for when you visit a person's house or apartmant for the first time? What impresses you? What turns you off? I guess I look at the way it's decorated. I like open, airy spaces. Dark and cluttered bother me. So does smelly. I like a mix of style. Modern mixed with timeless in a fashionable way. I don't like houses that are all the same in every room. I'm not a big fan of prints, and I positively loathe plaid.
Pyro Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 What do you look for when you visit a person's house or apartmant for the first time? What impresses you? What turns you off? What impresses me: Clean place good smelling place A place with some style Turn offs: Opposite of what impresses me
hotgurl Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I hate messy gross smelly places. I like open spaces & modern decoration. Bauhas style
serial muse Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 i second the clean bathroom call. mildewy shower curtain and strands of hair = similar for the kitchen. otherwise, i'm pretty open to however the person chooses to express himself, decorating-wise. cozy and eclectic and not too fussy is generally good. i do take a look at the books to see what's the what.
burning 4 revenge Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Carpets that glow after being exposed to luminol is never a good sign
laRubiaBonita Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Carpets that glow after being exposed to luminol is never a good sign especially if the glow is in the shape of a pentagram!
a4a Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 especially if the glow is in the shape of a pentagram! Or perhaps look for sharpie ink messages leaking through the apparently new paint on the walls?
Art_Critic Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I could care less about being impressed.. but the last girl I dated had spider webs all over her windows.. Her house was kinda covered by trees in the woods. But it bugged me.. alot.. My houses and all the kitchens and bathrooms are always spotless.. Even the decor is fairly good.. recently I have replaced some furniture with leather..
luvtoto Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 What do you look for when you visit a person's house or apartmant for the first time? What impresses you? What turns you off? The fact that he doesn't live with his parents! ... or have roommates. I, also, like the fact that he has a 2 spare bedrooms. If we would ever get married, there would be room for my 2 kids. Him having those extra bedrooms available, sends me the message that he is planning on having a family.

alphamale Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 What do you look for when you visit a person's house or apartmant for the first time? ...a naked woman.

Okay, I know your view on the cat thing, I disagree but there is no point in arguing that one I don't mean personality as in his accent pillows match the window covers, by personality I mean things that tell you a little about what he's in to. For example in his apartment my bf has his guitars mounted on the walls, a huge music collections, posters autographed by bands he has seen live and so on. This is his place having non-gay personality

My BF is a graphic artist and he has lots of his projects around his home.
burning 4 revenge Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I have a big framed poster of Bette Davis in the living room and my friends think it looks gay. I don't think it is though
alphamale Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 I have a big framed poster of Bette Davis in the living room and my friends think it looks gay. I don't think it is though don't you hang out at gay bars and get lap dances from trans-sexuals?
burning 4 revenge Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 don't you hang out at gay bars and get lap dances from trans-sexuals? some of my friends think that's gay too. i don't get people
allina Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 some of my friends think that's gay too. i don't get people people can be crazy like that
alphamale Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 people can be crazy like that well if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it must be B4R...
Mz. Pixie Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Clean bathrooms are a must. Once I went out with a guy a couple of times and we went back to his apt on our LAST date and the bathtub/shower combo was grey with mildew! EWWWWW- just the thought of him showering in the muck made me not want to ever sleep with him.
rainfall Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 The only thing that I would find to be a turn off in a guy's apartment would be if he lived with his parents or roommates. I like being able to walk around naked and can't really do that if there's other people besides us around.
nicki Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 I like the place to be clean and presentable. That means visually it looks open and uncluttered. No piles of old pizza boxes, magazines, beer cans, etc. Other than that, I like a clean bathroom and kitchen. I don't mind dusty baseboards or corners, but please have a clean toilet that is free from guy pee on the lid....yuck... Clean towels in the bathroom and kitchen are a good sign, too (the guy knows how to do laundry. ) I also like a place that smells fresh and recently aired out. Any furniture style is okay. If I am with the guy long term, I will replace it anyway! (Wait, no naked girlie pics anywhere, and hide your porn collection. Oh, and your self-help books, too. I don't want to see "How to Stop Being a Mama's Boy" or "How to Stop Stalking Your Ex.") But, feel free to leave out any book titled something like, "How to Please a Woman Sexually and Make Her Scream." That just plain shows initiative.
