Guest Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 Hi, I've been following this forum for some time and I must say this is a great forum with a lot of sound advice given. I hope that someone can help me and give me some sound advice. Guys' feedback will be appreciated though I welcome girls' advice as well... My ex and I have been together for 2 years, we braved a lot of adversities together but the final one gives a final blow to our relationship i guess. Things had been shaky between us for quite a while and he asked for a cool off period and I was so shaken and affected then that I had an affair with another guy. It is a one time thing that I stopped immediately after that and eventually, me and my ex went back together. However, he found out the truth one week ago by reading my handphone messages. At first, he said he will forgive but i guess it gets so painful that he apologized and said he tried his best. I broke down then, this is the one mistake i will never forgive myself, i lose the guy i love because of a stupid mistake I made and I paid the price. He hugged me amidst the tears, saying that who knows we will be back together one day and that we may have to start from being friends again... Anyway, he did not intiate contact from then on, and everyday, I tried messaging him or calling him. His response is better gradually as the days goes by: from ignoring my calls to replying my messages though it takes hours (worth the wait though) and gradually picking up my calls. However he is still very cold and yesterday, he told me that he is no longer caring for the past and I stupidly thought that means he had forgiven me and give me a chance again. I asked him that and he told me we are friends. Now I am very confused. What does he mean by this? Does this mean he had forgotten the past and genuinely wants to be only friends now or does he mean we should start from scratch? I messaged him today and he messaged me but replied he is very tired and doesn't want to talk on the phone? Please, what do I do now? No contact, less contact or reassurance? I know you guys are condemning me now and I'm alright with that because I deserve it but tis is probably the biggest regret I will have in my life. Crying now, please help...
