SoCalCatman72 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Ok, so this girl has been on my mind lately. The scenario is; About a month ago, I was up in the mountains visiting some friends for a birthday. This one girl pulls me out on the dance floor, and ends up jumping into my arms. Later on, one of my friends tells me that he thinks she has a boyfriend. Fast forward to last weekend, I was in the mountains again (I like the mountains) and my friend comes in and tells me that "that girl is at the bar again" (She helps out at the bar, so it's not like she is there drinking every night), so I'm like "ok, it's on like donkey kong", we go to the bar, and I'm just sitting there smug as a clam at high tide, with my drink. Anyways, I don't see her with anyone, and she does come over to me (albiet a bit hesitantly) and we start talking. Later on she give me her phone number and the following day we went out to lunch. After lunch I asked her if she wanted to hang out with me and my friends, we were planning on going 4 wheeling. She says yes, but that she has to drop off some stuff at her sister's house. Later that day, she calls to tell me that she can't make it because she has to wait for her sister to get home. Ok, so later that evening, she calls to apologize for not being able to make it. The next day, I call and left a message with her roommate. The day after that, she calls me, I thank her for a wonderful lunch conversation and tell her that I think she is an amazing woman. So she says that she's going to be in my area this weekend and she would give me a call. I'm taking bets here. Who thinks she will actually call, and who thinks she will flake? The sad part is I really like this lady, and I really do think she is amazing. Why do we always fall for the most challenging ones?
Adunaphel Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I bet she'll call. If she had no intentions of meeting you, but just wanted to sound nice, she would have said "I might be in your area one of the next week-ends, I'll call you". Imo.
Sand&Water Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Reply: Why do we always fall for the most challenging ones? Because he/she is challenging. Tell me again, Why is she a challenge? She seems like a normal, non-challenging woman. I definitely think she will call. Sand&Water
Author SoCalCatman72 Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 She's a challenge partly due to the distance, and partly because she is so darn awesome. I don't fall very quickly, but this one is different, somehow.

To me it seems like you're getting a little too worked up over someone you've just met. If she calls...great, if not...what have you lost? Nothing. Hope it works out for you though. Good luck.
Author SoCalCatman72 Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 True, and that's the attitude I have had, but being bored and all on this lovely Friday the 13th, I thought I'd toss it out there.
Island Girl Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 True, and that's the attitude I have had, but being bored and all on this lovely Friday the 13th, I thought I'd toss it out there. You sound like you played the situation correctly. What's to worry about? You are the Laid-Back-King-Of-The-Jungle. From what you wrote, non of your actions were desperate or anything. I think you left a good impression. If she is a smart girl, she'll call. And I think she will.
Author SoCalCatman72 Posted October 16, 2006 Author Posted October 16, 2006 Well, the weekend is over, and no call....... NEXT!!
Yamaha Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 I vote for flake. If she was interested she would not give you excuses but find a way to get together. She might make a good friend.
Kamille Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 Good thing I didn't wage in on this one... I was sure she was gonna call. Ah well, she probablt did have a boyfriend/guy in the wings somewhere.
