Sorry that this is in the wrong section, but whatever. 2nd day taking zoloft, and I can already see good results. I feel calmer and not as " stressed " or anxious. I do feel a little out of it, not too much though. I'm just hoping that will ware off in time maybe when my body gets used to the medication? Your opinions?

I do feel a little out of it...

This should pass. If it doesn't, talk to your doc.

I'm hoping It does pass, It's not like its a so much " out of it " but just a little. You know how you feel when you wake up from drinking alot ? Not really hung over just slightly out of it. So you felt like that at first? than you got used to it KM

Yeah the first 3-4 days i felt funky in the head, and then again when I upped the dosage but only for a day or two, now it feels ok.

I'll be doubling the dose in about a week. I'll just give it alot more time. I just hate feeling out of it because I feel I can't totally be my self, awkward feeling but I'll wait

Blech. I took my first dose of mood stabilizer yesterday and puked my guts out and then passed out for about 12 hours. Then I kept waking up and going back to sleep, feeling really weird and nauseous.

I gather that this is supposed to subside, but I feel like crap and my head is even more off than usual today. Now I have to half the dose and try taking that for a month, along with dramamine. Apparently I'm "medication sensitive" and I have to take really really tiny doses for a lot longer than everyone else.

hmmm well thats enlightening to know. How big of a dose were you taking any way??? Eh you must be very sensitive to meds than, that sucks. Seems to be everyone on here is taking meds or have tried them.

Hey,

I don't take any anti depressants because they make you hornyless (and because you can improve the serotonin levels with natural ways)

But I'd be careful about that.

An old friend of mine hasn't had a date or sex in "9 years" and she couldn't care less.

I'm taking 5mg of abilify, which is a mood stabilizer for mania/antipsychotic.

Actually now I take 2.5 mg/day.

Yeah I have been on wellbutrin and lexapro. Wellbutrin caused me to have a horrible manic episode where I was awake for 7 days straight and started hallucinating. I had to be shot up with a tranquilizer. Then lexapro caused me to have seizures for 2 weeks. I had to be shot up with a tranquilizer. Again.

Then they finally figured out that I wasn't depressed, I was bipolar and only seeking help when I was in a depressive episode. DUH.

I can't believe I'm taking meds again.

That's funny, I dont' feel like a robot.

And I'm unfortunately finding myself MORE interested in sex, except I can't have sex with who I want, nor am I interested in it with anyone else, which a terribly depressing feeling.

2nd day taking zoloft, and I can already see good results.

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) generally take 14 to 21 days to take effect. The medication has to build up in your blood serum. So...you are not feeling anything yet from Zoloft.

Ask your physician. :)

That;s not necessarily true- anxiety symptoms can be affected quite quickly. My anxiety was severally reduced within a few days. According to the med stats of the anti-d I'm taking, it reduces anxiety within a week.

It's the anti-d effects that tend to take longer.

Yes I am seeing and feeling results from zoloft. I feel a bit more calmed down thats for sure. It will take much longer to see the full benefits. some anti d are not for everyone. It doesn't make everyone feel like a robot, and it doesn't make everyone lose their sex drive. I'm not going to listen to people who speak negative about it because I'm the one who knows what I'll be feeling like in a cuple weeks. No one else

IMO, the biggest problem with all these meds is that they are SO case by case. Yesterday , I was meeting with my psychiatrist for the first time after starting the meds, and I was describing some minor side effects that even she seemed surprised at (like a few foods tasting different).

I guess that's why you hear everything from horror stories, trying 50 dif pills, right down to "worked within a few weeks".
