My girlfriend of a year and 7 months broke up with me a little over a week ago. It's basically for good, like no chance of getting back together, and it sucks. I can't stop thinking about her. I'm all mopy and junk and don't see the point in doing anything. My suitemates one suitemate tried introducing me to someone to try and help get my no ex-g/f off my mind, but it just made me think about her more. What can i do? I feel stuck, like I'm never gonna get over her (not that I want to right now). Bleh.

You will get over her, but expecting to do it right away isn't realistic. It will take some time. Keeping busy doing things you enjoy, spending time with friends, getting involved in new activities - all of that will help, but you'll still have some sad times.

When I've had bad break-ups, I tried to find at least one thing every day that made me feel good - even if it was just a really great sandwich - in order to remind myself that I can still feel good. Each day, notice more of those little things, more little moments, and eventually the good will outweigh the bad feelings.

You'll be ready to date again, and you won't always be comparing dates to your ex, or even thinking of her. Just give it some time.
