scammy Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Hi everyone normally I am on here venting about one thing or another but not today! It was a great day even though I had to walk 5 blocks to class in a downpour. I moved my car to a parking spot in front of school (that never happens) and I found a butterscotch pudding in my book bag @ 6pm when I was broke and starved. Anyways I need help the bf & I again are holding this relationship together long distance. I want to do something really sweet sentimental and cheap:( because I am a broke student. Any ideas about text messages, poems, emails, snail mail would be appreciated. Unfortunately I am not the least bit romantic or sentimental; I need help! This is the longest we have been apart (31 days) in 14 months now. If you review my earlier posts we were apart for 4 1/2 months in 2005 and have had more than our share of ups and downs. I want to thank everyone who gave me advice (Even the bad advice given to me by Mr. jellyfish up the crack of my &%$) BF finally worked through his commitment issues and called my parents and told him he was in love with me and wants to marry me. It was a big thing for him. I don't quite understand because I have always known how I felt about him but on to my request blah blah I ramble. I have until the 8th so …no matter how corny it is send it. Thanks guys!
leopardprint Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I was apart recently for my 2year anniversary in an LDR as well. We didn't really do anything since we were having "troubles" but that doesn't mean I won't try to help a fellow LDRer! Text messaging is hard to be romantic - you can only fit so many words, you know? And nothing is romantic in txt speak... "i luv u mor thn lif itslf u r my air 2 breth w/o i wud die" . Snail mail I personally find to be UTTERLY thoughtful in this day and age. I mean, how many people out there even know how to fill out their return address at the top of the envelope anymore ?! Everything is done electronically now (bills, emails, IM's, webcaming, etc.). Don't get me wrong, LDRs are amazingly doable because of today's technology, but a letter takes so much time and thought to put together. The type of paper you're going to use, hand writing it, etc. You can even spray a bit of your usual perfume or body spray on it to remind him of you . Remember, the sense of smell is the strongest factor for the memory (however, out of experience, I suggest spraying the perfume/body spray into the air, and waving the envelope and letter into the air where you sprayed.... if you spray DIRECTLY on to the letter, they're going to open it and be all, *BOOM* "Ah, GOSH, what the... what is that smell?! PHEW that's strong!"). I think just freeflow writing a letter to him about you two and how you feel, how you're inlove, etc., is the most romantic thing you can do. Speaking from the heart with no other intention except to let him know, is extremely romantic. Maybe slip in a copy of his favorite picture of the two of you together. And then, I mean, there's always the "P.S., Meet me on the 7th online and make sure to accept my webcam invite..." and do a sexy strip tease for him on webcam. Good luck! Let us know what you end up doing!
