hi,

I have a question; i'm 16 and a couple nights ago I asked a girl for her number and she told me she was too young, i kinda look like i'm 19/20 years old, that's what people tell me anyways; so...shes 14 I told her I was 16 and she gave me her number.

I've been wanting to call her but there is an age difference there and I dunno if I should call and ask her out. What do you guys think?

Is a two year difference between people ok; I mean you don't really see teens w/ a two year difference going out but adults usually have quite a few years difference. My parents have 7 yrs between eachother...

Is it ok if I ask her out? I'm going to be 17 in a few months, is that kinda pushing it? So there actually might be a 2 1/2 to 3 yrs. age difference...

When is it too old to go out w/ someone? This has kinda been bugging me since i've been going back and forth about calling her anyone's advice would be appreciated.

What do you mean you don't really see teens with a 2 year age difference going out? I do all the time. Maybe it's just your choice of friends, I don't know. One of my friends was dating a freshman as a Junior, another was dating a freshman in college as a Junior. Sure, it's more likely that you'll find someone of your own age in high school, but that's not always the case.

It's not about the age difference as much as her being 14 IMO. There is a lot of development, physical, emtional, and mental, that goes on between 14 and 16. I think it would be ok to call her but make sure you take things really really slow.

It's all good, but you should know 14-17 (according to what you said) is a big deal especially for girls.
