Besides what you listed above, talk to friends and even go on a drive down the main road and look at places that might interest you. Thats really all that you can do. A good job won't just fall from the sky.
Author mehim Posted September 29, 2006 Author Posted September 29, 2006 you know, I did drive around the areas by me, but the thing is, I do see a lot of now hiring signs, but its all retail jobs, which is not what I want. a good job wouldnt get posted by a street sign, well that's what I believe.

Retail has its ups and downs. Good jobs are hard to come by, at least where I live. (The state with the worst economy) For a good job, your best chances are what you have tried already, or hearing about one from a friend.

What are your skills? Anything you could do self-employeed?
bluechocolate Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 If you need to find a job then you use every tool available to you to do so. ..... and the internet doesn't really do it for me!! You're leaving out what is probably one of the best & most comprehensive tools you have at your disposal, even if you only use it to give you an idea of the current job market in your area - who is hiring, what kinds of jobs are available, etc. Many companies have a recruitment section on their websites - are you not even bothering with that?
Author mehim Posted September 29, 2006 Author Posted September 29, 2006 What are you looking for? What are your skills? Anything you could do self-employeed? I'm looking for a job that doesn't have to do too much with customers, becasue my background is management and customer service. I also have an associate degree for now. I want a job thats an office job, dealing with few people, or anything that is challenging. I dont think I want to do the self-employeed thing, no time for that if I want to go to school.
