Guest Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 Ok..I have a question mainly for the guys, but any input is appreciated..Is it possible for somone to have a very long term affair; 10 years or more, with multiple inbetween, without spending ANY money on it??? I have a friend who insists that her Husband did not spend a dime on his affairs which lasted more then 10 years, with one main mistress...Her husband has sworn up and down and everywhere around that he spent nothing. It's all I can do not to laugh...So...is this possible? Has anyone accomplished this? She also mentioned that he possibly used his various award points, ie..airlines, hotels, visa...to purchase trips, gifts, etc...Has anyone out there ever used THIS approach? Is it possible to hide the spending by using these points instead of cash? Her Husband travels constantly, and she says he does not have a company visa...He uses his personal and is reimbursed. Is this an old trick of the trade? I know she caught him once using his personal visa to take a younger coworker to dinner and did not list it on his expense report...She said she checks it every week..Thanks...

I used to travel for my job and you get lots of miles, double miles, free upgrades, free companion tickets, etc., once you reach certain mileage levels. The hotel points work that way, too. If you stick to one or two chains and reach certain levels based on nights stayed, then you start getting all kinds of extra hotel points and free nights and stuff. I've taken quite a few vacations to some really awesome places for free, and I've taken others with me. Add credit card miles/points/rewards, and he could have covered gifts, too. Also, he could have flown her to whatever city he was doing business in and she could have stayed for free in his hotel while he was there, and his company would have payed for his hotel stay anyway. More problematic are dinners out. It's possible he charged those in to his company if he was out of town on business. To get reimbursed, all you need is a receipt, not actual proof that you did any business or with whom you had dinner. If he also received per diems for each day he was out of town, he could have even had extra money to play with. Taxis and rental cars are also reimbursable when he's on business. If he has a separate cell phone for work, that's also reimbursed, so calls wouldn't be listed on his personal cell.

If he has a separate cell phone for work, that's also reimbursed, so calls wouldn't be listed on his personal cell. thanks for the input...I don't know all details, but I do know that he does claim to have a separate cell for work...I have tried to tactfully tell her most things that you said in your post, but I have not had any luck..He's very convincing, and she has small children, so has been out of the loop for a long time...Re: extra money to play w/ don't know about that either, but I do know that he is a senior VP at a very large, well known company..If he's been taking someone else w/ him it has not been her...She is home almost all of the time w/ her children, and she told me that whenever they do travel, it's paid for in cash...no points, mostly condos, etc...no big hotel chains that I know of...I know that when he does travel for business, he uses the big hotel chains, two in particular and only flies two airlines, one partners w/ his visa as far as awards..I think he averages one to two days per week sometimes more of pretty hefty travel...All flights and rental cars...Never drives his own car that I know of... I also have another question...She mentioned that he always gets his physician to call in an Rx for an antibiotic before travel if he's out...Is this some sort of preventative measure if you cheat? Does it work? Also, he keeps what he says is a collector's coin in his wallet, and she says it's round and hard...making an indentation in his wallet..Could this be a cover for an indentation made from a condom while he travels. Is this common too? She has small children, as I said, and she is concerned for them and their physical health...They have been very sick on and off, the youngest with a lengthy illness that made him miss several weeks of school last year. Scabies was also a problem earlier on as well as other things, too numerous to mention...She never suspected a thing...The Doctor told her that kids get that from the soil...I had to hold my chuckle in...From the soil??? What sort of Doctor tells a parent this...Everyone knows how you get scabies and crabs...Don't they? Also, he recently lost close to 35 lbs and has been buying new suits, etc..and she told me last night that he gets a hair cut before he goes to a certain city...I also know that he leaves on Sunday occasionaly and tells her that he has to due to a meeting that is too early for him to catch a flight to be in time for Mon. morn..Is this a sign too?

OH YEAH!! Dang cheaters have got their petunias covered all right! They perfected the art of lying and cheatng. XHTB did most of that but I always managed to find out the "truth". But that slimebag continued to lie. His famouse excuse when caught was: ~ I didn't know how it got there. ~ No matter what I tell you, you won't believe me anyway. So what's the point...
