Tormented Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Just recently, my ex has taken up the sport of calling me (sometimes at 12:20 am, as he did last Wednesday evening), and then either sits there silently, or hangs up when I answer. I can't help but wonder what people get out of doing this? I mean, what thrill do they derive from this?? I have never called an ex before just to "sit there." Never. I just don't see the point or reason for it. Is anybody here dealing with this? Do you find it annoying? ~Tormented~
garnet Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 strange, but I've been dealing with this lately as well. I don't have caller ID so I don't know who it is, but I'm suspicious of the ex. But then I think, would he really do something like that? What is there to gain from it? It's weird.
burning 4 revenge Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 He's listening to your voice and touching himself.
Cheshire Cat Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 They want to hear your voice or they are (more probably) checking on you. They want to know if you are out having fun without them and whether they have already been replaced. (you can say they are calling hoping NOT to hear a male voice in the background asking you wtf is calling so late in the evening) If they are particularly mischievous they might call you at 4.00 am just to wake you up.
littlekitty Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Very strange and sad thing to do. I can't think what they are really getting it out of it!!
Author Tormented Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 It's weird. Yes, it is. And it's also a selfish act. Why can't they just leave you alone to heal? ~T~
Author Tormented Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 He's listening to your voice and touching himself. Well, now...there's a disgusting thought! Ewww.... ~T~
Author Tormented Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 They want to hear your voice or they are (more probably) checking on you. He once told me..."I love your voice." But we're broken up now so I wish he'd stop. They want to know if you are out having fun without them and whether they have already been replaced. (you can say they are calling hoping NOT to hear a male voice in the background asking you wtf is calling so late in the evening) Yeah, but here's the kicker, Cheshire. He re-united with his ex before me and is now living with her. So WHY is he calling me??? If they are particularly mischievous they might call you at 4.00 am just to wake you up. God forbid!!! ~T~
