Sally00 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 There are many different stages of a relationship. And there are lots of ideas out there. I'm just curious to see what kinds of stages in a relationship you heard about. My boyfriend and I have been dating for 8 months next week. We're 20 and talk about our futures together as if we're already officially engaged. We've been friends for over a year beforehand, so we are quite comfortable with each other. Thanks for input!!!
HeyYouGuys Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 I think if you googled 'stages of a relationship' and 'stages of a marriage' you'd come up with some interesting answers too. Generally speaking, there's the 'honeymoon' stage, where people are in love and everything's happy and easy. Then there's the bumpier, 'reality stage' where people start to notice they are different in many ways. Conflicts start coming up and people learn to either navigate through them or not. If people can get through the bumpy part, they may settle down into a comfortable routine where there's not the same degree of passion but love has deepened and mellowed into something more realistic and enduring. True intimacy and trust takes many years to develop. I wish you guys all the best!
