ok ladies and gent i need some major advice... well my bf that i've been dating for about 5 months now is very selfish in ways - i do everything in the world for this guy, make him lunches for work, drop him off and pick him up from work, take him out to the movies, feed him etc... and he wont do anything for me it seems like. for example we stopped at the store the other day and he gets himself a bagel and a juice and i thought maybe he would atleast get me something because i always buy him food in the morning and he didnt get me one thing. he treats me more like a buddy then a girlfriend. do u think im overreacting and how can i go about talkin to him about this witout hurting his feelings - i really want to work at this relationship.

thank you

Does he ever show that he cares for you in other ways?

how can i go about talkin to him about this witout hurting his feelings

Do not sound aggressive.

Do not use unpleasant words like "cheap-ass" or "jerk" to address him. Avoid sentences like "I feel unloved because you don't ....", "you should ......", "why do you never.....?".

Opt for sentences like "I would really like you to.....", "I would feel special if......", "things like ........... are important to me".

It would be better IMO to start asking directly to do things for you.

Some people will just assume that if you'd like them to do something for you, you'd ask. Perhaps your bf is one of these people.

for example we stopped at the store the other day and he gets himself a bagel and a juice and i thought maybe he would atleast get me something because i always buy him food in the morning

Next time ask him to get you a pop-tart and coffee (or whatever you feel like eating in that moment).

If it does not work stop picking him up, stop packing him lunch and go to the cinema with someone else.
