Say you had someone who was 'just a friend' because you were already in a relationship with someone else. If that relationship ended, would it be possible for feelings towards that person to change or would they always be 'just a friend'?

Anything is possible.

But the transition would necessitate both parties being on the same page, which can never happen without open communication.

Usually - well, in my experience anyway - the "just a friend" prison is a lifelong sentence. Maybe, somewhere on a distant galaxy, it can evolve into something deeper, but I've never seen it.

Quinch,

If that relationship ended, would it be possible for feelings towards that person to change?

Yes. It is possible. But, you have to make sure such feelings are authentic in nature.

Would they always be 'just a friend'?

~8/10, yes. It is always about timing, and perception.
