Spiderman Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 A few question's :- - Are girls with older brothers more switched on to how guys actually think and act? - Do girls with older brothers have a better understanding of men? - Are girls with older brothers who are avid players, less likely to get walked all over? In my experience I'd maybe have to answer yes to all of the above - Just interested to hear the general consensus...
littlekitty Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 A few question's :- - Are girls with older brothers more switched on to how guys actually think and act? - Do girls with older brothers have a better understanding of men? - Are girls with older brothers who are avid players, less likely to get walked all over? In my experience I'd maybe have to answer yes to all of the above - Just interested to hear the general consensus... I don't have an older brother, in fact I've never had much of male role model full stop. But I've had friends that do have older brothers... and I'd answer yes, yes, yes. Even more so than having a father on the scene, I'd say an older brother, being closer in age, and of the same generation, is even better placed to look after his sister and make sure she's fully informed about men!

Great point. I'd definitely have to agree with that LK. I'd say it's definitely in a girl's interest to have an older brother. Us men can be nasty deceitful devious creatures you know. Although I do feel it unfair to blame us completely for our actions, the penis plays a large part in our decision making process!

I do know unfortunately! You men blame your little head for everything....!! Still, it does control 90% of your thinking process....!!
stoopid_guy Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Suspect it's true with girls. I'm a guy who grew up with three older sisters, and in a social situation am more comfortable around women than men. As an aside, I also like to cook. My father-in-law thought it was a little "strange" that on Thanksgiving I was hanging out with the ladies in the kitchen instead of the men in front of the TV.

As long as you don't wear crutch-less panties, lip-stick & high heels you're home free!!

In my experience I'd maybe have to answer yes to all of the above - Just interested to hear the general consensus... Yes. Yes. and...not too sure about this one. My brother was not only a player, but a womanizer and I've still had my share of devastating heartbreak. I think I have to say NO to the last one.
Author Spiderman Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 Yes. Yes. and...not too sure about this one. My brother was not only a player, but a womanizer and I've still had my share of devastating heartbreak. I think I have to say NO to the last one. But surely by witnessing your brothers womanising and playing tactics, you'd have picked up on the signs?
blind_otter Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I grew up with all sisters and feel more comfortable socializing with men.
Buttaflyy Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 But surely by witnessing your brothers womanising and playing tactics, you'd have picked up on the signs? Yes, I've picked up on the signs. BUT...I was caught up with a man who was just like him, thinking of course that he was different. This jerk was actually a friend of his whom he (my brother) never wanted me to date. They are no longer friends because of it. After him, I guess they both taught me a valuable lesson. I did learn the hard way, even after witnessing what I should have known to stay away from.

So in effect, due to you having an older brother, you picked up on the signs quite quickly then! My theory is proving correct! mwa ha ha ha ha * rubs hands evily *
Author Spiderman Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 I grew up with all sisters and feel more comfortable socializing with men. That may be the case, but then poses the question, do you really know what's going through their little depraved minds most of the time?
blind_otter Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 That may be the case, but then poses the question, do you really know what's going through their little depraved minds most of the time? Yep. But I'm also not the most feminine of women, and I am bi. So there you go. Most of the time I have no idea what's going on in women's heads. I don't understand them. I am trying to, though.

My theory is proving correct! mwa ha ha ha ha * rubs hands evily * LMAO! See, I told you I was unsure about the last one, but I guess the answer is yes Spidey. I did learn alot from my brother, in fact my SO thinks I'm too in tuned to what you guys think and feel, thus I act more on how you guys would. He jokes that I have more testosterone than most women. I like to say I'm just more educated in that department.

Guest Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 I didn't grow up with any. I'm an only child and can say that I'm very confused about male female relationships. I would have to agree that if I had an older brother I may actually be successful in some of the relationships I've attempted. You're right men can be cruel and wish at times I had the older brother to weigh in on the discussions other than female friends.
