pricillia Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 besides sex...LOL What are some good date ideas coming from the men... or if anywomen have any ideas please chime in!
JamesM Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Eat at a place that is relaxing...no fancy restaurants. Do something that is interactive...no movies. And certainly, no dvds or videos. My best date experience was one that never left the restaurant. Yes, it was with my wife. We spent four hours getting to know each other. It was fascinating. That conversation was the basis for our romance. IMHO, if you want to get to know someone, then interaction is necessary. If you like sports, then pick one that causes constant dialogue or interaction. If you like walking or bowling or minigolf, these cause constant communication. Boating, cross country skiing....these may work. Stay away from sex. As soon as that "line" is crossed, the focus changes. Then it is more important to either have sex, think about sex, or prepare for sex. Then getting to know one another becomes getting to know one another sexually. Shopping...yes, you can learn alot about someone when you "walk" the mall. Just my two cents. Mundane ideas, but they do start a friendship.
Author pricillia Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Thanks James... those are some good ideas. Anyone else?
Author pricillia Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Karaoke! But I'm also weird. Karaoke... not not weird, but I know that this particular person would not like that. I am trying to wow him without trying too hard any other ideas
Blackfrost Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 If I don't know the other person almost at all, I prefer somewhere casual and quiet where we can hang out and get to know each other. Casual restaurant, a nice bar (with no 80's metal cover bands playing) or even just somewhere to have coffee and talk for the first hour or two, and see where and how well you connect.
Author pricillia Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 ok black frost that is a good idea, I have know this person in passing for a while now. He likes sports loves working out. I guess a quiet dinner would be nice but then... hmm thinking thinking
tanbark813 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Depending on the type of guy and the availability of locations around you, attending horse racing could be fun. You have one minute of activity during each race and then 20 or 30 minutes in between to chat.

OMG- tanbark, wanna go on a horse racing date with me, I love the track! haha j/k How about a museum- they are great for just walking around and there's lots of interesting things to talk about.
climbergirl Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Rollerblading, canoeing, kayaking.....umm..pack a lunch and bond over these things. Bowling could be fun because it's soooo cheesy and no one I know is really good at it. Minigolf is another good one. All these tend to be less competitive and more humorous...........
