I tried being friends with her. Then I realized that she wasn't the person I fell in love with and thought I had. So I lost a friend today when she asked me to decide, right at that very moment, if I was her friend.

 

She walked out, saying "Let's assume not, so I can move on with my life."

 

I'm a little numb, a little in shock but I think I'll be alright. I'll probably collapse into a weeping fit but then... then it'll be good again. Will I see her again? Perhaps I will. What will happen? I know not.

 

But I am gonna miss her. And that's alright.

I also tried being frinds with my ex, what a stupid move i made, hey this persons dont care for me anymore, this is not the same person i usto love, so take it from me its not a good move to be friends with your ex, nothing but pain will come from this.

 

But if u do wanna be friends, i suggest that u give yourself some months or even years, when she means nothing, then for your sanity you can be friends at that time.

people can't stay "just friends" as long as one is still in love with the other.

 

But it's good for those of us on the "in love" side to know that those of you on the "not in love anymore" side feel this way, so thanks for the post.

Anyway, I agree that being "friends" with an ex whom you still have intimate/romantic feelings for is not only a bad move, but nearly impossible.

 

If you still love/care for X person, then you will hurt when this person has moved on, and not you.

 

It's too hard, and it's not worth the effort. What for? Think about it: Why be friends with someone who, in the end, hurt you so?

 

What's the point in that?

 

But I do believe that upon bidding a final farewell, it is of outmost importance to be honest and sincere about where the two former lovers stand, regardless of how much it may hurt.
