gemmab2020 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 My flatmate (who is also my best friend) got a bit of bad news the other day. His best friend from back home hung hisself on Wednesday and he has flew home to go to the funeral today. Basically I don't know what way I can help him. I have never experiences a loss like that before, but it broke my heart to see him cry and to see him so upset. I have been lucky in my life where I have never had anyone close to me die. I just want to be able to ease his pain in whatever way I can, but I jsut don't know how I can do that. Any tips? I can't pretend to know what it feels like when you loose someone close to you but all I want to do is be able to help him in whatever way I can.
littlekitty Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Just be there for him. It's that simple really. You don't need to say anything specific. Give him a hug, tell him you're here to listen if he needs you... then just be normal. He may want to laugh at the good times, cry, shout.. whatever. Nothing you can do or say can really help expect just being there for him.
