Getting a phone number off someone working at fast food, how to note number down!

what is the easiest way to get a number ?

 

the asking part i'm fine with, its when they say "yeah, sure" and i need to get the number down somewhere/somehow, making sure i dont fumble around, looking like an idiot infront of the waiting customers

Keep pen + a paper/any device (like a cell phone) you can use to get down numbers at hand.

Ask for her number when there are relatively few people at the fast food and you can take the time to write down her number without irritating whomever is queueing up behind you.

have spare bit of paper at hand or ask if she wants her receipt - if no then get her to write on the back of it... It shouldn't take that long really

 

ps you're allowed to look like a fumbling idiot I don't think other customers would care that much... and you can always say 'apologises for the delay/wait' etc.

Best thing is have your cell phone in hand ready to just type it in! Do you have a cell phone?

 

If not, just have a piece of paper and a pen handy!

 

She'll probably appreciate that you're organised and ready to take it down, so won't cause an issue for other customers.

i'm thinking, maybe give the girl the piece of paper and pen ? or is there some reason i shouldnt do this ?

also, my general approach to asking for the number is just "is it cool if i can get your number ?"

 

i might be looking to much into this, but maybe theres a better way to word it ? maybe be more direct for this situation ?

Why not give her your number? then she can call you if she wants...

 

Or same deal with the receipt, get the receipt and say 'By the way, can I get your number' then you already have a piece of paper ready, you can sort of fumble about looking for a pen so you don't look too organised.

 

if she's say 'umm err....' and looks a little scared then you can say 'ok, well how about I give you my number and you can call me if you want' it leaves it in her court then.

I agree with spiderman on this one...... You're asking advice on how to write something down. If you are illiterate than I can understand, but this is just inane. Bring a pen in, tell her to write it on your hand. That way you wont lose the damn thing! Unless there's a starving african child behind you in line, I doubt people will mind waiting an extra 17 seconds to get their bigmac with fries.

Are you planning on making a habbit of this? With a pen and piece of paper (I can't believe people still use either of those implements for ANYTHING ) crusing fast food joints for greasy-faced teens?
