You tell daughter not to wear them at first and she continues to wear them before hubby comes home??? Because you can not find them?? If I tell my kid not to wear them, they would not. If I told daughter to hand all of them over, she would. 8 yr old wearing them is not appropriate, period. I can see you are going to have a hell of a time raising her when she gets to be a teenager. She knows you have no backbone. I would not let my daughter go spend a few months with a sister in law that lets them sunbath in thongs. What else will she learn.......that it is ok to have sex at an early age? Or something else not age appropriate. Just because she is family, you still have to be on guard who your children stay with. And now your ok with them........jeezzzzz Okay okay!! No need for a personal attack. I think I am a very good mother. In my house the husband has the final say. I don't think that makes me weak. That is the way it was in the house I grew up, and that is the way it is in the house that I keep. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I will admit that I should put my foot down harder with my daughter, in that area I am weak perhaps. I should have probably been more strict about her wearing them before her father came home, but I was afraid to make a big scene while the relatives were here. I've gota few years before the teen years, so hopefully I'll have learned a few things about rule enforcement by then. Its hard for me because her father is usually the disciplinarian. And when he's not around its like I'm helpless to do anything. And for your information, I did not know that my SIL was going to let them sunbathe in thongs. I had no knowledge of it until Ashley told me about it when she got home. Now that she is getting older I think I might be a little more inquisitive about what she does at her aunts. And whether its appropriate or not is, as I have learned, entirely objective. So far they have not caused any major problems, if they do, then my husband I will most definitely tell her to give them to us. I think someone asked how her friends knows she wears thongs, I don't know for sure, but Ashley is very proud of her new underwear so I just assumed they probaby knew, no, they havent treated her any differently because of it.

I remember one time my sister had a problem with showing people her underware. They were those granny panty kind, of course, she was like 8 at the time -- but they were red, which she just loved. Then she got the smack down from my mother and I don't think anyone ever knew what underware she was wearing, ever again. I was only 3 at the time but the legend of that smack down echoed in the history books of my family. We still laugh about it, to this day.

Nowhere near even preteen yet. oh. i just saw preteen is usually 9-12, so i was a little off. but it's still technically pre teen, as in before the teen years...can i get away with that? and that's funny, blind otter. at least she wasn't wearing thongs with "lick me" on the crotch or anything. that would have been a weird story to have to know at 3...
