Indigo Children!

Recommended Posts

I said in another thread that they deserved a thread of their own, and here it is. Dedicated to Indigo Children and their parents.

I can't provide links because oddly, most of the links relating to the phenomenon of Indigo Children appear to be commercial ones. Taken from various snippets I have read whilst briefly skimming the special world of these exceptional children, I've used my own indigo-type skills to reword an expert's description sufficiently to avoid breach of copyright.

Indigo is the colour of the metagifted child's aura and represents the Third Eye Chakra (relating to intuition and psychic ability). These children rebel against authority, are highly emotional and exceptional in all sorts of ways.

Broadly, if my child is diagnosed as an Indigo and yours isn't this means that in many ways he's more gifted and special than yours is. Now this doesn't, of course, mean that he's better than your kid - it just means that he's different in that he's highly talented, sensitive, psychic and has a form of intelligence that simply can't be measured by traditionally methods.

There are all sorts of organisations that can help you to first of all diagnose your child as Indigo, then receive specialist training that is required if you are to successfully and effectively parent your special child. It is vital that you undergo this training, because Indigo Children have been sent to earth with the dual mission of saving our planet and enhancing its vibrations.

Indigos can be either extremely kind and compassionate...or prone to callous behaviour that utterly empathy. It is crucial for you to realise that if your child is cruel, this is not his or her fault - it's simply an aspect of their condition. Life is a struggle for the Indigo child, as he is faced with overwhelming obstacles such as discipline, queues and people who are unwilling or unable to recognise his superiority.

How do you know if you have an Indigo child? Some or all of the following characteristics should be present.

1. The child resents discipline.

2. The child hates queuing for anything

3. He/she has a sense of "royalty" and entitlement

4. Gets bored easily

5. You don't detect any sarcasm in this post.

Any people here who are engaged in parenting a metagifted Indigo Child, know someone who is or simply have a view on the phenomenon of Indigo Children that they wish to express? Please share your experiences, comments and suggestions on this thread.

Well … I suppose it's one way to look it.

Of course, however new age, this certainly isn't some new phenomenon or revelation. Since recorded history it has been known that wickedly bright and creative people are twice as likely to be just as wickedly screwed up.

There's a fine line between genius and insanity!

Um..I think it's already dead

Are you high?

:lmao: dont answer that.

I wonder why otter put "PRE SCOTTISH NATION" in her message. Oh, maybe because she was referring to the nation that existed prior to the creation of scotland, which would imply that they no longer exist.

A lot more in 15 years time, if some of the following theories are to be believed...

According to Carroll and Tober, "the Indigo Child is a boy or girl who displays a new and unusual set of psychological attributes, revealing a pattern of behavior generally undocumented before." These psychological attributes and behavior patterns include, but are not limited to, being technologically advanced, head- and mind-oriented, fearless, empathic, telepathic, wise beyond their years, and extremely intuitive and self-empowered.

Carroll and Tober assert that these children are often misdiagnosed with Attention-Deficit Disorder or Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and they advise parents to avoid medicating them for that condition despite warnings from legitimate doctors. This pattern, they claim, has unique factors that call on parents and teachers to change their treatment and upbringing of these children in order to assist them in achieving balance and harmony in their lives, and to help them avoid frustration. These classifications differ significantly from conventional child psychology and sociology.

Supporters state that the proportion of Indigos in recent times is very large and increasing, rising from 85% in 1992 to 95% at some point after 1994 [1]. In previous decades, the proportion was claimed to have been much lower. This and other claims are disputed by opponents who have challenged the concept on issues of methodology and statistical verifiability.

Carroll states that the Indigo Child concept is metaphysical in nature, although he also holds that most of the traits of Indigos are also physically observable. Carroll describes himself as a channeler for Kryon, an angelic being. One of the book's six chapters focuses on the spiritual aspects of claimed Indigos. Some followers take the stance that the arrival of these children is wholly a spiritual phenomenon, and that Indigo Children are the beginning of a new hybrid, possibly alien.

I heard that one symptom of being an indigo child is refering to yourself in the third person.

See - I always knew I was special & that everyone else was wrong.

Isn't it spooky that I chose my user name before even knowing this stuff? I must have been channeling Kryon when I joined up. And blue is my favourite colour & features predominanly in my house & wardrobe. And air mail stickers are blue & I love to travel - this is getting spookier!

I apologize for my attempts to discredit your passionate beliefs, but

1. The child resents discipline.

2. The child hates queuing for anything

3. He/she has a sense of "royalty" and entitlement

4. Gets bored easily

5. You don't detect any sarcasm in this post.

...these traits that simply indicate a difficult-to-handle child are too weak to convince me that these kids are psychics and were "sent to earth" with a mission.

Yeah, with a mission to make their parents' lives miserable!

We must have a ton of Indigo children that go to our store. You know the ones: screaming at the top of their lungs. The one I remember was the 5 year old girl screaming, "I WANT A PRINCESS!!!" at the top of her lungs for 20 minutes straight. Oh yeah, I wanted to princess her all right..........

My impression of Indigo Kids is that they are kids in serious need of DISCIPLINE. Oh but that's just me.............

Indigo Children reminds me of a website I found once describing the 'blue people' of Kentucky. Apparently these few families intermarried so much that they have a blue cast to their skin. How creepy is that?

As I'm getting the distinct impression that people think I'm a genuine supporter of/believer in the crystal/indigo child movement, it's time to inflict a bit of good old fashioned punishment on myself.

I must not be sarcastic.

I must not be sarcastic.
