Roo Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Has anyone had this?? IS this the dreaded roto virus!! k woke up at 5 am shii**ing her brains out... (gross)nasty nasty awful smell like something died inside her... cleaned her up put her down 5 min later another gross nasty watery chuny nasty smelling poo... REpeat till I've been thru 10-12 diapers... I give her a hot bath after calling the pedi who basically just said watch for fever and give her pedialyte. (while H goes to store for the pedialyte) she poops again in the tub, I get her cleaned up, run another bath she seems to feel a little better after that lies on me on the couch lets me lotion her and dress her and nearly falls asleep on me (I have her some water with a lil juice in it to sip) she's ok now for an hour or so, when H returns with the pedialyte etc.. she promptly gets up kneels over and pukes on the ottoman (thankfully her towel was still on it) She seems to be in better spirits for the moment but she looks so worn out. does this sound like what you experienced with the roto virus? (gosh I hope not I have a nasty feeling in the pit of my stomach and I keep praying it's just from lack of sleep)

robkris8079 Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Sorry I don't have any experience or knowledge of the Roto virus. Just wanted wish K well. I know when my daughter was sick it was the scariest thing ever. She turned blue and was shaking uncontrollably. I still don't even know what was wrong with her. Again hope all is well.

Thanks I try.. for sure we are all sick now... well I am and K is... can M really be far behind I'm half ready to call H and tell him to come in here with a dust mask and then go sleep at his dad's him getting sick too won't do us any good... seems it is the roto as best I can tell this is what I'm in for http://www.fmh.org/pediatrics.cfm?id=302 yuck yuck and more yuck... Author Roo Posted August 31, 2006 Author Posted August 31, 2006 Thanks WWIU, I talked with the dr this am, basically he said all we can do is hydrate hydrate hydrate and ride it out, so far k seems to be on the mend, I'm hopefull that I will be by tomorrow am too. And if we are on the mend by then it'll be proof it's not roto as that lasts much longer (and I'll be so relieved) H feels a bit cruddy and so far the little one is showing no signs of the illness so hopefuly we'll be on the way back to healthy by the weekend!
