BabeRuth87 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I recently have gotten to know this guy whom I have thought to be a family friend. We grew up on different continents, but have gotten to know each other more since going to the same college. It turns out however that we are distant relatives--fifth or sixth cousins. Would it be weird or gross if we dated? I know it's legal, but would it be socially acceptable?
burning 4 revenge Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I don't think it's a big deal. Weren't the Roosevelts second cousins?
alphamale Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 It turns out however that we are distant relatives--fifth or sixth cousins. Would it be weird or gross if we dated? Not at all. I think even 2nd cousins can legally get married. So you're cool. Weren't the Roosevelts second cousins? ...they were just plain weird
burning 4 revenge Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 They were 5th cousins, I just Wikipeded it. So you see, your'e in the company of one of America's most beloved and iconic couples.
hardcharger7 Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I don't think it would be weird, unless it makes you feel weird. If it doesn't, then it should be alright.
dreaming4ever Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 How do you even figure out who your fifth or sixth cousins are? I only know who my first and second cousins are
