Are there any OW here who had an affair with their doctor or attorney? Or have you heard of other OW who have?

I've heard of these of affairs in the news. I thought these affairs would violate professional ethics, especially those of doctors. A doctor can lose his license for having sexual relations with his patient, right? An attorney may not lose his license, though. I don't know.

Just wondering.

Do a search on aussiemandy and dentist.

Are you considering an affair with a DR, L or a Dentist? Or is this just pure curosity?

No, I'm not considering an affair. Truthfully, I don't think I can handle the stress. :)

I was curious about attorneys/doctors having affairs with their clients because they're risking themselves both personally AND professionally. That's so much risk, I think.

I have personal knowledge of a number of divorce attorneys who have sex with their female clients in return for fees. These ladies are often without much money and are emotionally vulnerable. These handful of attorneys, being the vultures they are, swoop down on vulnerable ladies and take them for what they can.

I have personal knowledge of many doctors who have affairs with nurses and sometimes patients. Doctors are extremely busy and most of them didn't have a lot of time to devote to finding a mate. Many, therefore, made mistakes in getting married but are reluctant to divorce because of children and the great finances at risk. They spark up their lives through affairs with women who are immediately available and smitten with them.

I'm totally baffled by the number of women who are stupid enough to think these doctors are going to leave their wives and marry them because they are incredible in bed. GEEZE...ignorance abounds. Women have absolutely nothing to gain by seeing a married doctor with, perhaps, the exception of a complimentary breast examination.

Rarely do doctors or attorneys (at least the ones I know) have happy marriages. However, their wives stay with them because the money is good most of the time. Sadly, they pay a price for having the bills paid...a marriage devoid of emotional fulfillment and often with verbal and/or physical abuse.

All of the information above is based on my own personal observations as well as what I am told by others who are highly credible.

Best of luck to all who go there against all odds!

Another pointless post from Tony.

I am a third generation lawyer (although I no longer practice) and I have several lawyers in my extended family. A few doctors.

My grandfather was married for 55 years and had a wonderful marriage.

My parents have been married for 32 years and are still holding hands.

I was married for 7 years (widowed) and certainly never cheated.

Yes, the long hours and extreme pressure takes its toll.

I have absolutely never, NEVER EVER heard of anything remotely even close to what Tony is discussing - re lawyers being paid ''in kind''. Such a statement shows an incredible ignorance about time & billing practices. Lawyers are under massive pressure to be productive. I can't think of a single firm I have worked in or had dealings with where such a thing would be even possible.

I can't imagine ever being involved with a client. It's completely unprofessional.

Yes, it happens...and it happens VERY often and it is extremely unprofessional. Luckily you don't travel in those circles and you have relatives with morals.

I failed to mention that I personally know of an attorney in New York City who travels to a motel each Friday night in New Brunswick, N.J. to be in the company of a prostitute from the UK. Can't tell you how I found out but I used to be a newspaper and television reporter so I am probably more alert for stuff than most.

I have no idea what the percentages of cheaters are among doctors and attorneys but it's very odd that I see this happening first hand so often.

I absolutely must mention that I do personally know a lot of attorneys and physicians who are not, to the best of my knowledge, cheating on their wives. I'm sorry I didn't mention this. (Most of the ones who are cheating are not aware that I know about it.)

It's nice that doctors and lawyers cover for each other, though.

Thanks for the new replies, Everyone.

Tony, very interesting input!

It's not that odd. They make $$$, that's all there is to it. Opportunity.
