Guest Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 can you be friends after breaking up? is it even possible? what will it take?
Roo Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Sure it's possible for some people here's what it takes. Two people who are mature and comitted to putting the past behind them and caring for one another in a different capacity. also... the right circumstances, sometimes history is just too much to overcome and move forward as friends.
whichwayisup Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 It isn't possible to stay friends with someone after a break up. Enough time has to pass on by so each of you can get over the feelings, get used to NOT being in eachother's daily lives. You gotta be in a different frame of mind, not only in the head, but in the heart. Once you get to the point where they can't affect your emotions at all, possibly a friendship can happen. BUT, if one person still is carrying a torch and has feelings, NO WAY. It's just not going to work. Eventually though, one of you will start dating someone else, and it's not really fair to have a friendship with the ex while with a new boyfriend or girlfriend. And, once that new person is there, you'll realize being friends with the ex isn't as important...
