If you guys don't know my background, and are too lazy to read my threads :p, I was in a LDR with my S.O. (now ex) for 2 years - he recently broke up with me 2 months or so ago.

So recently, like in the past 3 weeks, my ex has been in EVERY SINGLE one of my dreams, and I've been having 1 - 3 dreams every night. They're good dreams, too, like we're still together.

I can't sleep afterwards. I wake up feeling like things are the same between us. I feel like I can't get him out of my head, romantically. It's like... everytime I think I'm moving on and coping and things are getting better, I have a dream about how things USED to be and who he USED to be, and it puts me back to square one all over again. I want it to stop already. :(

Before I go to bed, I try to think of other things - art, work, the other guy I've been spending time with - but it always comes right back to him, because I know I'm thinking of OTHER things to NOT think about him.

Blah. :sick::(

Sadly there is no magic pill to stop the heartache. :(

Time is the only healer and that varies according to the person and how long you were together. Just hang in there and things will get better.:)

I am a very avid dreamer so I can completely understand what you are going through. my dreams about D feel so real that I can barely drag myself out of bed. I prefer the dream world where I am in his arms over the cold reality of the real world where we are not together.

BUt I have been through this before with other x's so I know that the key is to find some other obsession in my life and that will become the basis for the majority of my dreams from that point forward. Usually it means finding another man, but sometimes it is a project or a new job or a new activity.

Lately I have even dreamed about LoveShack because I am on here so much. ;)

I can't promise that will work for you, but I thought I would offer what has helped me in the past. Good Luck!

I think that dreams are a part of the healing process. I think they are there as a way for us to cope with what is happening in our daily lives.

What we think about we take into our subconscious and dreaming minds, whether we wish to or not. If we try to block it out, same difference, it's still there and we still have to deal with it.

Seeing you two together in a healthy relationship in your dreams in a typical one. I think you are having them to teach you to cope with the loss with what isn't anymore.

Don't be surprised if soon you will awaken to realize you've dreamt of him again, totally unaffected by the dream. :)

I hate when dreams turn to my ex (OM). Surprisingly it doesn't happen often even though sleep is something that often evades me but when it does it almost sets the tone for the rest of the day, sadness.

I don't know if there is anything one can do to control their dreams, maybe do some research online & see.
