Depressed2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Dear friends this is my first post here, ever. I am fortunate to have found this site. It is a place where I can vent my concerns. Anyways, here we go. I first met my wife in 1996. Shortly there after we both got orders to go overseas. While in Korea I found out that my wife, girlfriend at the time, was cheating on me. Here we are almost 10 years later and I accidently open her cellphone bill. On that bill I find a number that reoccurs freequently and during all hous of the day and night. I researched this number online and found out that it belongs to the same guy that she was cheating on me with, so long ago. Should I be concerned? If so, how should I approach this situation? Should I confront her? Should I just forget about it? Any advice on this will be greatly appreaciated? Thank you all that respond.
whichwayisup Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Yes you should be concerned. There really is no reason for her to keep intouch with him. Be honest and tell her you opened it by mistake, but glad you did because you saw the phone number. Watch her reaction - Her eyes, her voice, body language. You know your wife pretty well, so I think you'll be able to tell if she's uncomfortable. I take it she knows you know about them before you two got married? If so, then definately make her understand keeping intouch with him is NOT good for your marriage. Ask her if she's happy with you. Find out if she is turning to this man because she's not getting certain needs met from you, and if that is the case then she has to communicate all that. Be strong and don't put up with her telling you that they're "just" friends...
Bryanp Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Should you be concerned? You have got to be joking or you are in total denial. She was screwing this guy and cheating on you with him 10 years ago. She is now communicating with him at all hours behind your back and you wonder if you should be concerned? If the roles were reversed do you think your wife would ask herself if she should be concerned? What do you think they are communicating about - world affairs? If he lives in close proximity the chances are great that the affair has resumed. Apparently you must be such a nice guy that your wife does not feel afraid of risking her marriage with a guy in the past she cheated with on you. For God's sake open your eyes?
