dancinman5000 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Hey peeps, Here's my relationship setting. My girl friend and I wont be able to see each other for about a month and then after that it will probably just be once or twice a week because we will be about 30+ minutes away and incredibly busy. I know that's not very extreme by any means, but I just wondered what basic things people did to keep things good without being sad about the distance the whole time.
leopardprint Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I wouldn't call seeing one another twice a week a "long distance" thing, let alone a "distance" thing, however, if you're really that concerned, just make sure you keep in touch; that's the key to any LDR. Phone calls, IMs, emails, etc.; you know, the usual.
sao2 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Distance is a factor anytime it gets in the way. 30 min may not seem like alot but it can be stressful when you have a full plate. Pointers I would give: 1) take time each day to get in contact with each other. 2) Occasionally, take some time out and have a spontaneous get together. 3) Try planning get togethers when traffic is not so heavy. 4) Have dates somewhere in the middle. A 30 minute drive is pretty surmountable. You are probable just accostomed to being right there. After a few weeks you won't even feel like it's a big deal.
